What a month!! - Sadly Updated

It's been quite a month for me and FH. First, he was told he needs to have double ear surgery for a condition that he has called cholesteatoma (an abnormal build up of tissue in the ear). Then, FH's dad passed away 2 weeks ago after being hospitalized for 2 weeks. Today, we are officially down to double digits and with all this stuff thats been going on in our lives, its real hard to feel excited about our wedding. In fact, it just adds to the stress. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to get married as I love him more than life itself but I feel anxious about the wedding itself. Just needed to get this off my chest - thanks for listening.


When it rains it pours...FH's grandma unexpectedly passed away on Saturday. Please pray for our family during this difficult time.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! I can't even imagine going through all of that,what a strong couple you both must be. Please vent to us at any time. Did he have his surgery yet? was his father's ill for awhile? Oh, I'm so glad you're wedding is going to add light to such a hard month. Hugs all around to you and your FH

Thanks ladies He was scheduled for surgery yesterday but with his dad passing and all, it has been pushed up to Feb. FH dad had been sick for many years with Parkinsons and diabetes as well. However, it was a complete shock to our family as he was doing real well. FIL went into the hospital on 12/17 and was in ICU for some time. Then, he seemed to improve and they moved him out of ICU. Later that same night, he passed away due to respiratory failure.

I know it will all get better and that unfortunately, life is not always smooth. Right now though, it seems like the ceiling is caving in. However, I'm trying to be optimistic and keep in sight that in a few months I'll be marrying the man of my dreams and look forward to our lives together.

I'm a little nervous about the surgery because its intrusive to the ear. As a result, he will likely lose 20 - 30% of his hearing in each ear. The dr. assured us he will not be deaf (thank God!!!) but that his hearing will likely be affected.

Your wedding is the day after mine. I am starting to get stressed and I don't even have anything going on like you do.

It will settle down as the weeks progress. Let not your heart be troubled.

Im sorry to hear about the endless heartache! But keep in mind, it always gets worse before it gets better. I know thats probably disappointing, but maybe rock bottom has hit and it will only get better from here! As the days pass you will slopwly get more excited about your big day coming close. Before you know it you will be so excited you won't know what to do! But for now, through this grieving period, remember you always have your fellow LI brides here to help you through it!!

I'm so sorry to hear about the difficulties you have experienced this month. I am sure it is hard to imagine but the happiness and love you have felt before will return on your wedding day. Hang in there.

Bad things always seem to come at the same time. I'm very sorry for everything but things will pick up.

I'm sorry to hear you having a such a tough month! I know it is hard to be excited about the upcoming wedding with all the sad events that have taken place lately but all those who have passed would only want you and your FH to celebrate your love for one another and be happy. So while you are mourning all that you've lost take heart in knowing that you have some angels up above that will be looking down on you on your special day and want you both to be happy.
