awww, she's a sleepy girl! How cute - I love when they sleep on their backs like that! Golem sleeps like that all the time and he looks so absolutely adorable with his paws resting on his fat little belly, I just want to kiss him

Asia is such a pretty girl!!! Golem is great!! He'll be 5 months next week and he's getting big, FAST! He just went to the vet Friday for his last set of shots, and he already weighs 50 POUNDS!!!!! I wish he could stay this small forever, but he's probably going to be anywhere from 100 - 115 fully grown! His pop was HUGE, about 120!!!! But I think once Golem is neutered, he's going to slow down a bit - so I don't think he'll be quite as big as his dad!
He's teething really bad now - some of his chew toys have blood on them and he's been cranky about it too, so he'll throw little mini temper tantrums sometimes. But, now that he has his shots, we've been able to start walking him, which he LOVES! Of course he wants to sniff and see every litle thing along the way, so we're getting quite the workout keeping him in check!

Re: What a rough life...
Steph - thanks! Where on LI? I'm exited for you! I know you've been looking for awhile now!
Helena - 50lbs??? WOW! I can't wait to see how big he gets!!! Asia IS petite!! She's been 80-85 for about 6 weeks now so we're not sure if this is it. I know Rotties aren't FULL grown until about 2-3 (from what I've heard) so we'll see!!! I remember the teething days..they'll pass soon...but if he's ANYTHING like Asia - the tantrams will continue!
Beth- She IS spoiled! It's like having a kid!!!

Too cute! Looks like a normal day in my household!
ETA: Bailey was the largest in the litter, but topped out at 85-90 lbs. She's small for a Rottie...but shes 1/2 American 1/2 German...the Germans are bigger Rotties

I am SO HAPPY to hear this!! Golem just started throwing these little temper tantrums two weeks ago, about the same time we started noticing blood on his chewy ball toy At first we were worried that it was from not walking him yet and that was frustrated energy - but everyone has been saying that it's normal, so it's always nice to hear! Our vet says the teething will continue for another 2 months or so.... oh my poor hands!!
Just for my own sanity, can you Rottie moms give me some tips and advice on how you dealt with your pups during these teething months? Golem just goes into these little fits sometimes and he's crazy with the nipping! We give him lots of chewy toys and we just got a new rubber Chilly Bone (since he tore the other canvas one apart!) and that seems to help, but sometimes he's just fixated on biting nothing but us!!! Thanks!

Re: What a rough life...
I learned from our trainer and vet that we shouldn't let her bite on our hands even during teething - it shows them it's OK to bite people sort of. So, we just kept rawhides on hand (thank GOD whoever invented them!) and lots of hollow bones filled with cookies/cheese/PB. She ruined all her toys so that didn't last long. Just lots of hard bones - oh, and the hooves. They have them @ Petco - little black hooves. They were her FAVORITE during teething time. Good luck!

Re: What a rough life...
pig ears are also good too....FYI..they do get better with the chewing up of toys...at about 2 1/2 Bailey learned that toys are to play with, not destroy. But we still take them away if we are not home.

Re: What a rough life...
thanks girls! Craig and I are making yet another trip to Petco this weekend, so we'll pick up the things you've suggested so Golem doesn't keep going through a toy a week!!

Re: What a rough life...
Yup - pig ears too...only the funniest thing is that for some odd reason those are the ONLY bones she hides! They're 'buried' under my chairs, in the couch cusions, in plants, etc...
