So my fmil wants to give me the nj shower (im having two) so i say ok thanks thats great... we are goign to have it at her house.. i made invites this weekend,.. mailed them at 7 am this morning .. we even picked out food to order yetserday! she decides to tell FH this mmornign that she doesnt think everyone can fit AFTER i mail the invites.. (she has mentioned it a few times ive told her no worries everyoen will be fine liek 3 times) 25-30 peopel can easily fit in her house.. she's mad that the BRIDAL party is coming over from LI to attend.. she thinks its unncessary guests.. my girls are travelign a few hours to help out and be a supportive bridal party... and she is po'd b/c she thinks too many people will be there...

and i usually LIKE my fmil.. for the most part hahaha
i hate showers, i hate letting other peopel have control of stuff (ie: at her house).. ugg this is why i am a super planner and depend on noone else...
on the flip side my mommy is wonderful.. last night i call her up tell her the date of the shower at HER house.. and seh is like ok fine no problem ill start cleaning haha... i heart my mommy!

Wow I can't believe FMIL is making such a big deal out of the BP being at the shower. I would think it would be ok since they are in the BP. Sorry she's acting that way but at least your mom is cool so that evens it out.

This is exactly the kind of thing that makes me hate giving other people control over wedding related things. and...your BP should definately be there -- thats so RUDE of her to say that they are unnessesary guests...they are THE MOST NECESSARY guests.
Thank god your mom is being so great about your second shower

juat do your best to ignore her and tell your BP to do the same...your FMIL will get over herself cause why volunteer to do something and then complain the entire time....just be a gracious hostess/b2b.....it all be over soon

haha yah i am very good at the fake smile and being a nice future dil... haha oy! my bridal party and mom are very well away of the 'fmil' issue haha.. and will def. do the same... we are all great actresses! hahaha... i might pull my hair out if my BP weren't there b/c they are my rocks .. i mean the rest of the people at the nj shower i only know a few of them (great shower huh haha)... im doing it to be 'nice ' and not have strangers travel to LI for a girl they dont know... aw well! hahaha.. i basically told FH to have his mom stop worrying.. nothign can be changed now unless she calls people personally and say sorry plans changed no shower... (she woudlnt dare do that it would 'look bad' haha) that shut them both up!

Looks like she'll just have to deal with it. Just try to be patient and smile. In the end it's all about you and your FH. Hopefully she'll stop sweating the small stuff. I mean come on the BP?!!!

i would think she would be happy the bp was coming all that way to give a hand, i would be. and hello they are your bm-whats a shower with out your bm? hope things get better!!

Phoney yourself a smile, and just make her happy, even though you wanna kill her. I admire your BM's traveling from the island to attend your shower and support you and help her out. Enjoy your day as best you can. I'm sure your mood will change once all of your friends are there. And Kudos to mommy for getting her house ready for you
