What an Awful Day! :(

Soooo, DH and I had an appt to take Paul for his first haircut today at 1:00 PM in Huntington - this place called Zippity Doo's.

About 30 minutes before we were going to leave, Paul fell in his room and split his lip open Panic ensued as DH and I were frantically trying to determine whether or not to just rush to the hospital. Mouth injuries always spew lots of blood, and this was no exception. We held Paul over the sink and doused his mouth w/water. Thankfully, the cut is not very big or deep, but his poor little lip is swollen like a balloon! The pediatrician's office said he would probably need a stitch only if we couldn't get it to stop bleeding. Otherwise, he should be fine.

He's no worse for wear tonight, thank God. He's happy he gets to eat ice pops (Dr recommended, since he will not keep a regular ice pack on his lip). Mommy and Daddy are still a little shaken up, tho. I am NOT READY for all the bumps and bruises....I need prayer and strength!

Oh no!!!! Im so sorry to hear about his accident but glad it's not worse. Sounds like a typical kid - very resilient - you & DH probably got a few grey hairs.

I would be shaken up too My mother keeps telling me how falls are a part of life and he's going to get lots of scrapes and bruises in his life and inside my head I keep yelling 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!' I never want him to get hurt - ever! I'm sure you're exactly the same.

Aw, poor Paul!
I hope he feels better soon. I am also dreading the stage where they tend to get so many bumps and bruises. Yikes.
So, did you still go for the haircut or did you have to cancel?
