I am going there this weekend with FH to look. Right now we are considering Ethan Allen, Domain and Stanley (found furniture similar to EA there).
I have never purchased from Domain before and was wondering what everyone's experiences are, good and bad. How is their customer service, overall quality of the furniture.
I have been very happy with Ethan Allen, I am just not sure they have exactly what we want.

Based on the prices, Im guessing Ethan Allen is probably made of better material.
Ive been in there a few times and the customer service is definitely lack luster. Maybe it was just a bad time but I usually go in and there is not a single other customer there but they still dont have time to help me. So thats a bad sign.
The furniture tends to be quite ornate so you have to have a certain style to put it all together correctly.

I like a lot of Domain's stuff, but I don't own any pieces. I've been bugging DH to go to the new store on RT 110 in Huntington.
I've found Ethan Allen to be a bit overpriced. You can get the same furniture from a direct importer for a fraction of EA's retail price.

Jenny: which direct importer do you suggest. So far I only found NCarolinaDirect, which carries the brand Stanley which looks similar to me to Ethan Allen. Can you suggest any other ones.
I am planning to buy a livingroom and diningroom in the same style. We have a huge livingroom and want to make it a combo room.

Karen, Ebay has a lot of direct importers. You can usually bid or go directly to their websites to order. (Their shipping is usually cheap too.) One of the reasons why they're cheaper is b/c they don't have the overhead EA has.
The sellers above sell mostly dining sets, but I'm sure there are direct importers selling living room furniture as well. Hell, even if you save money on your dining room set, then you can 'even' things out by purchasing the living room set at EA!

My MIL likes Domain. She bought her livingroom table, a chair and a lamp there. Depending on what you are looking for, they can be a bit pricey.
