What are people thinking!!!!

So i get I am not inviting any children to my wedding other than those who are immediate family and in the wedding. I sent out all invitations Mr and Mrs except to those who have children over 15 which then was mr and family.

So i sent one to my dads cousin that said mr and mrs and they respond accept and 3 then at the bottom she writes I guess you must have forgotten that we have a daughter. W T F i didnt forget shes not invited. AHHHH and to make me even madder I wasnt invited to their wedding and i was 18 when they got married.

My father said let them bring her but i see it like this if i let them bring her then i have to let everyone cause then it wont look right

DONT give in to this. TRUST me when I say it will cause problems later if you do. We had a similar issue and we made the excpetion and let one family bring their kid because we didnt want to start trouble. Well......others got wind of it and then we got phone calls and emails of others who wanted their children there too. We finally turned around and said no one was bringing their kids -- we specifically wanted an adults only reception. The ONLY children we had there were our Junior groomsman and RB. Everyone else was 18+ Just remember, if you make one exception tot he rule, you're going to have to explain yourself when other guests get mad and say 'well I heard you're letting so and so bring their children'

P.S. -- that was incredibly rude of her to write that on the rsvp card, especially after not inviting you to her wedding.

It is one thing to respond with 3 will attend when only two were invited.
But to add the line 'I guess you forgot we have a daughter' - that is incredibly rude.

Respond with - No, I did not forget you have a daughter. I invited only you and your husband, no children have been invited unless they are immediate family or in the wedding party.

Put your foot down and keep it there.

How unbelievably rude! And to write that you forgot about the daughter! I am embarassed for her.... it definitely puts you in a tough spot, but seriously, put your foot down and say no. If you weren't invited to theirs, she's under your age limit, and would cause other rifts in the family its not worth it. It's easy to just turn the other way to save face, but it'll be worse in the long run. I would say something, or perhaps have your parents say something and explain to them what you just said to us.

Definitely do not give in. If you do, everyone will want to bring their children and it will just cause more problems then it is worth.

i have just experienced this dram FULL FORCE, People feel a sense of entitlement and control! They must forget who's wedding it is??? Kids are not allowed I don't feel like dealing with it either does my fiance'. Unless your in the bridal party there is no need. I think it's really funny when people have the balls to CALL or make COMMENTS. some guests were like thankgod a night off without my kids!!! who the fu*k wants to deal with that???

Nope. I'd call and say sorry. It's an adult reception and there is a limited number a guests we can invite. Then I would say that I would understand if she can't make it, because she can't find a sitter. Forget them. You don't need them at your wedding.

Wow, I wouldnt' give in either. It starts too much trouble. You have to put your foot down. I havent had that problem yet, and I'm hoping that I don't.

If I do I'll just say I'm sorry, but no kids allowed. Only grandchildren. That's what my friend did and it worked. She had her RB & FG and that was it.

Wow This astounds me! I can't believe she had the balls to write that on the RSVP. This is my biggest nightmare about the invites. Stand your ground and don't give in!
