What are the expenses for your BMs and what, if any, are you covering?

What are the expenses for your BMs and what, if any, are you covering?

I'm just wondering because I only received the dress money from 1 of my BMs. The others still have to get it to me. (I paid off the dresses over the summer). The dresses are $134. One is $164 because it's larger.

Then, one of the BMs (who hasn't paid for her dress yet) asked me if I am going to cover their shoes.

I was planning on covering their hair styling for the day of the wedding....

My BM have to pay for their dress, shoes, hair and if they like makeup.
I may pay for their makeup but it is not for sure.

I have taken care of their housing for the week(s) they are going to be here which is a HUGE relief for them since none of them live in NY. But that is it the rest is on them and they know that...sorry your girls are being tight

as a BM i have always bought my own dress and shoes and paid for my hair. i think its very generous that you would pay for the hair styling!!

My BMs paid for thier own dresses and shoes. Which I am thankful for..their dresses were like 160-180 b4 tax and you get the picture.
As for makeup.....I am having mine done but my mom will be doing theirs..she's good.

I am buying thier jewelry though...

you are very generous already so dont feel pressured to do more.

my girls are paying for everything on their own! I offered my sister - MOH and my best friend other MOH they can get their hair or makeup done.. they dont have to do both but I will pay for one.. so if they decided just to get their hair done I will cover it... if they want both they have to pay for one..
my FSIL is a bm and she thought they even pay for the bok! when I told her no shes like well it is appart of our attire for the day.. I feel bad I will give you the $65

I am paying for all their dresses. The shoes and the makeup are their responsibility.

Part of being in a bridal party is shelling out cash for dresses that you will never wear again and shoes and other stuff.
I had my girls wear black shoes- not dyed ones- and let them pick out their own styles.I figured at least they could wear those again. And they really thanked me for that too.Plus I wanted them to be comfortable that day, not wearing shoes that i picked out for them.

I paid 1/2 of my sister's dress and 1/2 of my best friends gown (because she also had to pay for her daughter's dress). But everyone else ordered their dress and paid for it.

I think it's common for the BM's to pay for their own attire. The bride will often buy the jewelry as a gift. To ask you to pay for shoes is a bit nervy, IMO.
I paid for half of the dresses, plus hair and make-up as a gift. They can wear whatever shoes and jewelry they want.

I've always paid for the dress, the shoes, and hair/makeup myself whenever I've been a bridesmaid. (didn't usually splurge on the makeup)

I always resented the dyed shoe bit, although I can understand the dilemna with certain colored dresses. Once I was told to just buy a pair of silver strappy sandals ('you can wear them again') and you know what, I never did.

My girls are paying for their dresses and they can pick out whatever black shoe like.

You can pay for whatever you like as a gift, but I wanted to give everyone a more thoughtful memorable gift (although I don't know what that is yet!!!)

Totally agree. I've been a BM two times and will be one again this July.....had to pay for everything on my own.I will buy my BM's jewelry though because I think it looks more uniformed when they have on the same thing.

I'm not paying for any of my girls attire. I bought them all a lot of stuff as their gift, but that's it. Hair and makeup will be offered, but they're free to do their own. I may also pay for them all to get a manicure.

I had to buy one bm her dress and shoes. The other ones I bought their fg shoes and headpieces for them. Otherwise, they are on their own!

I'm taking care of the dresses, but they'll have to cover anything else that they want. I am not specifying shoes, hair, or makeup. They can wear whatever shoes they're comfy with and if they want hair and/or makeup done, I'll book them with me or they can find someone else if they want. I'll be paying for my sister's hair and makeup though.

I bought them jewelry, and plan on buying them each a nice gift. Something different for each of them, since none of them really like the same thing. They're paying for their dresses, but I really did my homework and ended up saving them $100 per dress by calling around and looking for the cheapest price. I'm letting them wear whatever shoes they would like, provided they don't completely clash, and I'm letting them wear their hair/makeup however they'd like. If I decide in the future that I want them to get their hair/nails/makeup done, I'll pay for it but for now, I'm happy with however they choose to show up. I mean, they've always dressed appropriately for other functions. I have faith that they'll look nice for the wedding.

My MOH & BM's, are paying for the, dress, shoes and whatever undergarmets they need.
As a gift to them, I am paying for their makeup, if they want it done. They are paying for their hair. My FMIL wants to give them the jewelry for that day as a gift from my FH's family, so that's covered.

I am still giving them a gift at the rehersal dinner. Still haven't decieded what tho
