From WebMD:
Influenza

Symptoms

The symptoms of influenza appear suddenly and often include:

Fever of 100°F (37.8°C) to 104°F (40°C), which can reach 106°F (41.1°C) when symptoms first develop. Fever is usually continuous, but it may come and go. Fever may be lower in older adults than in children and younger adults.
Shaking chills.
Body aches and muscle pain (often severe), commonly in the back, arms, or legs.
Headache.
Pain when you move your eyes.
Fatigue, a general feeling of sickness (malaise), and loss of appetite.
A dry cough, runny nose, and dry or sore throat. You may not notice these during the first few days of the illness when other symptoms are more severe. As fever goes away, these symptoms usually become more evident.
When fever is high, other symptoms usually are more severe.

or it could be a cold which is pretty much all that without a fever or dehydration.

The flu knocks you out. You don't have time to wonder what is happening.

Re: what are the flu symptoms?

I've had a nasty cold since Last Monday. A nagging cough and sneeze with headaches and sinus issues then on Christmas I was totally exhausted and dead. I didn't move. I was pretty much out of it all the way through to last night. Im still kinda weak today and its been nearly a week from the first sign.

What I hated most was waking up literally EVERY two hours to cough. Finally Jim put the humidifier in the room so I could sleep easier. Between that, Choroseptic (sp), Claritn D and Tylonol, I finally got some solid sleep last night.

Still have a cough today.

Yesterday was werid I was so darned tired I could barely make it through the grocery shopping I was just beat.

That time of the year for this I guess.

Re: what are the flu symptoms?

It is probably just a really annoying cold. They are popping up everywhere, I'm afraid. Just get plenty of rest and drink lots of water and juice. Avoid caffeine because it dehydrates you and don't worry too much.

Most importantly, listen to your body. If it says it is tired, give it rest.

Feel better

I thought I had the flu also, i had the flu shot, but last nite was the worst! I had chills and was shivering to no end. I also am congested and tired all the time. I know the flu shot does not prevent you from getting the flu all together- thereis a strain it does not protect you from. I hope you all are feeling better- at least we r not alone in this misery.

Re: what are the flu symptoms?

Two people near me both had the flu and they both had temp of 104-105 degree and both had to be rushed to the hospital because they couldn't breath. It is a real bad flu this year!! I always get the flu shot they say because of my Asthma I need it.....well this is the only year I didn't get it!!!
