What are these for??

You'll have to excuse my stupidity... I've seen alot of post on the DIY board about petal cones and kissing balls....

What do you use these for? Where do you throw the petals??

I've never seen it done before....

Petals are thrown usually after the ceremony...outside. Kissing balls I still don't understand....people sometimes have their FG hold them

Petal cones are the holders that some use to hold petals for tossing at you and DH as you exit your ceremony.

Kissing balls are an alternative for flower girls to carry. It is usually a ball of flowers. This is an option for those who are not allowed to have the FG to drop petals.

Are they thrown outdoors like the rice? or I think someone posted they were thrown indoors as they walked back down the aisle...

Yes, the petal cones are an alternative to throwing rice. You can throw them outside or indoors, depending on the restrictions of where you are holding our ceremony. Not all ceremony locations permit throwing of petals (or rice or anything else) indoors or outdoors.

The rose petals are thrown after the wedding. usually they're thrown outside the church. I've also seen them thrown as the bride and groom walk down the isle.

I am having my fg hold a kissing ball since we aren't allowed to throw flower petals inside the church.

When I first saw the DIY kissing balls on the DIY forum I thought they were like mistle toe at Christmas lol..... that's probably what I would've used them for lol... AHHH senility is a wonderful thing...
