I just posted this on another thread, but I think I am leaning toward a 'sign-in' board with our picture in the middle, where everyone can sign all around.

SONICSTEF I LOVE YOUR IDEA!!! WHERE DID YOU GET THE PLATE FROM? THAT IS SO GREAT! WHAT TYPE OF MARKERS DO YOU USE?

I'm setting up a crystal bowl (see picture) next to slips of paper set out on a silver tray ($10 tray off eBay) and a silver pen & stand that I got off of exclusively weddings. Next to it I'm setting up a matching frame that says 'Please write a note to and '

Guests can write a note and drop it into the bowl.

There is a store in brooklyn called The Painted Pot that does this. For $95, they have an artist paint your names and date on the platter, include one ceramic marker and both firings. Im having the Chrysler building painted on as well so that was an extra $25 or something.

They are really sweet at the shop but you can have it shipped to you if you prefer.

I am doing a wish bowl. You have small note cards that guests write their 'wishes' to the bride and groom on then place them in a bowl. Later I will put each one in a scrapbook.

I did the same thing as Dgtlsunshine..such a lovely keepsake in the end. I gave it to my mom to get framed last week

I am doing the guestbook that I will bind in later from www.guestbook.com. I got the idea from Shamma thanks-- . Everyone (one per couple) signs these sheets below and then I put them in a guestbook later on. I hope people do it because I love the idea!

Me either!!! I thought a guestbook was kinda dumb (no offense to anyone who is doing it) but when I saw that I LOVED it. I think it is different and will look cute all put together from friends and family who take the time to do it and be a nice remembrance.

Well what I was thinking of doing was having someone take a polaroid of guests and having them write something on it, so that I can put them into my own photo album that I'm going to make.
That way I can always put a face to my memory of the guest.

That's in Bay Ridge, right? Do they supply the platter or do you have to buy it yourself?

STACEDZ HELP

I love that idea but when I went to Guestbook.com it looked a bit confusing! Where do you find that?? Thanks!

Stef:

I also ordered the platter from the painted pot...what color marker did you choose? I didn't like any of the choices really but picked terracotta. Just wondering why there was no black to choose from? Maybe it would look bad??? What do you think.
