What are you including in your budget?

I'm looking at my anal retentive 'budget' spreadsheet, which isn't really a budget, but more an itemized list of every penny we have spent thus far towards the wedding. One side is out of pocket costs (that me and FH paid for ourselves), and the other side is actual cost (including items that either of our parent's paid for).

I am barfing now that the number is steadily increasing, and I know we're going to be over our 'ideal' total. We're at such a high number solely because I included the cost of my e-ring into the expenses.

For any psycho spreadsheet brides like myself, did you include your e-ring cost into the wedding budget?

I'm debating cooking the books here LOL.

I didnt include my e-ring into the budget because we are like 10,000 over budget lol I have everything written out in microsoft word like this...

FLOWERS TOTAL: $$$$ MONEY STILL OWE: $$$$

2/2/09 Paid: $$$
3/1/09 Paid: $$$

So that I can see what the total is, what is still owed... What dates we have made payments and how much each time LOL!!!!! I have probably added more work, but somehow in my crazy head... it has make it easier for me to organize everything and I can see what payments we havent paid in a while

I have way too many spreadsheets with estimated totals, actual totals, you name it. But no, I did not include my e-ring as part of our wedding budget. That was BEFORE the wedding planning began in my opinion, hence, it has no place in my color coordinated, to the penny spreadsheets! Cook the books honey!

I did not include the ring or honeymoon.

I do not really consider those 'wedding' expenses.

Ahh, I thought I was the only one who color coded the spreadsheet! Good to know there's another kindred spreadsheet spirit out there.

We didn't include the e-ring in our budget, but we did include our weddings bands. The e-ring was an heirloom from his grandma, though so it's a different case. We did include the honeymoon in our personal budget. (My parents are paying for like 80% and we are paying the rest with some help from his parents). PS Ali, I also color code spreadsheets!!! There's no other way!!!!!!!

no I didnt include that that b.p. before planning cost

Same here. Only items related to the wedding ceremony and reception- attire, flowers, transport, rh, music ect.

FH would love me a little bit more if I could be like you girls ... he keeps spreadsheets (color-coded and all) for EVERYTHING ... our living expenses ... our wedding expenses ... METS games we are going to for goodness' sake ... my way of organizing is writing things on post-it notes and hoping they don't fall behind the computer

ETA that we do not include the e-ring in our wedding spreadsheet ... we look at it as a separate entity.

I have everything on my spreadsheet except for the e-ring, that was FHs expense before we started any wedding planning so I don't include that.

I have my spreadsheet set up with a column for budget which I try to match or stay a bit under, then a column for the actual cost of each thing, then a column for a deposit, another column if a second deposit is due and then a column for the final payment with the due date.
