Re: What are you paying for your DJ?
Thanks. We just interviewed our first DJ. He was recommended by the venue, so we weren't sure what the 'average' is. We liked him though, so we'll see.
Anyone else?

Re: What are you paying for your DJ?
Wow. That sounds so nice. Our Yacht has a baby grand piano that plays itself. We're going to have that play as people are boarding the vessel, and maybe during dinner.
Our DJ would be taking care of the ceremony (it's on board), cocktail hour and reception. I just wanted to get a feel for what price range we should be in.
It's the smoke machine...it starts at your feet and circles you while you dance. However, even though it's in my package, I asked him not to do it and he is also doing my video so we will give me an extra DVD instead...

Re: What are you paying for your DJ?
By the time we are done adding everything in probably around $2500 for a DJ & MC and a light show w/ a photo montage while everyone is eating dinner. He has a wooden framed huge screen that he sets up on the wall.

That sounds good. The one we interviewed mentioned that he does that too, but we didn't really get into it... it sounds like a great idea though. Thanks for sharing!

Re: What are you paying for your DJ?
I am paying $975 for just the DJ, no MC, half crate of giveaways, cocktail hour music and a little light show or whatever it is. I don't think we really need the giveaways though, so in that case, it would be $900. I booked with Vinny from High Voltage. I didn't feel we needed an MC because he said he would do the announcements, and I felt like the people who were going to be there would dance just as well without someone urging them on to.
