What are you throwing outside the church?

What are you throwing outside the church?

My priest said bird seed is allowed. I didn't think that was allowed anymore. But, I'm afraid it will get stuck in my veil, etc.

What are your opinions on this and what are you using?

Thanks

there's lots of alternatives. You can have a dove release. Some girls are using streamers that come out really nice in pictures. Im using sparklers, they also come out really nice in pictures.

Sparklers ?? - That is awesome ! I've never seen that before !! -
I wanted to do rose petals but my snippy priest said we can't 'throw' anything. =(

We used Bubbles - even if bird seeds do get stuck in your veil - they will fall out - so don't worry about a thing - you'll be fine !!

enjoy!

This is definitely one of the subjects that i am so clueless about.... My church says no rice, no birdsee, no rose petals, no confetti type whatever!!!!!! soooo i was thinking the butterfly thing, but the more i research i just think its not the best idea for a few reasons.... then there are bubbles, but i am afraid of the soapy bubbles staining the satin.. lol... ahhh who knows at this point! sparklers seem like a great idea, and streams too, do any of you have pics of streamers that were used??? TIA

I am using either bells, ribbon wands, or petals

My friend got married last week and was not allowed to throw anything either.
She chose to use those party horns with the mylar ribbons on the end (sort of like what you see at New Years) and we all blew them as hard as we could when they came out of the church. It was very colorful .. and very loud!!

my church is very strict and won't let us throw anything -- so I'm hoping to make ribbon wands

I like the idea of sparklers, but not to burst anyone's bubble, it's harder to pull off than you'd imagine. Matches don't work well to get them lit, so you will need to provide LOTS of lighters. They also drop that ashy stuff and your church may not allow that because they will have to clean up after it.
