My favorites: Crate and Barrel-for knick knacks Maurice Vallency-for furniture
Speaking of ABC Carpet and Home--I just had the worst experience with them ever and will never buy from them again. I won't bore you with the whole story but the short one is: we bought a bedroom set there in the beginning July and spent about $10,000. They told us everything was in at the warehouse except for the night tables and that they would be in end of August and that we would be better off having everything delivered at once to save on delivery charges. However, we had to pay up front since the stuff was in. Anyway, since I promised a short story, we finally got the bed and dresser in October, the nightstands still not in, after several lies from the manager and customer service rep, nightstands turn up last week in the wrong color! And they had the nerve to charge us again for the stuff we already paid for. I couldn't deal with this anymore so finally I just asked them to come pick up the bed and credit me back entirely. They still haven't credited me back yet. What a nightmare. Sorry for the long post-thanks for letting me vent!

liz, there isn't one on Long Island. My friend lives in CT. I haven't been to one yet! I'm dying to go. Whenever I'm up in CT, I'm with my FH visiting friends. He knows better than to take me to that store!!!!

Re: what are your favorite stores for the home....
Tammy, it is this GREAT home store, that has everything at a major discount. Of course, the items are very espensive to begin with, but they are affordeable after the huge diso****, I'm talking about more than 50-70% off on some items. Anyway, I buy a lot of linens there. It may sound expensive, but the silkiest sheets I have are from there. For example, I bought once a 440 thread count Egyptian combed cotton sheet set, it is soooooo pretty and so soft, and it feels like heaven. I bought it for $100. The retail price was $1000. Which means I got it for 90% off
That is my favorite set, sorry RL.
Jenny, the one in CT is OK, I find the ones in Jersey to be bigger and better. You should make a day trip and store hop.
