it's going straight into our savings account - we're gonna need to replenish our savings after the HUGE hit it's taking to pay for this wedding

We are going to invest most of it.
We already own a home so we'll do some 'face-lifts' to certain areas but we really just want to save it.

We are going to put half the money in our savings account and pay a few months of our mortgage with that, and the other half in either a retirement fund or a mutual fund. We are not going to spend any of the money on us (except for the money that goes towards the mortgage on our house).

Ours was put into a joint savings account and is basically just sitting there. We're pretending it's not there and hope to use it in a couple of years towards a downpayment for a house/home.

pay the wedding bills and put the rest towards a down payment on a house.

Honeymoon, pay off wedding debt and hopefully redo our kitchen- if we have any money left....

We're going to use it to pay off the loan we'll be forced to take out to pay for our reception.

We did things a little backwards... we already bought our house, but we now have a lot of credit card debt for our purchases, so we'll be paying a lot of that off (how romantic!). And, anything left, we'll re-do our bathrooms and start working on our bar. Can't WAIT to get rid of the BILLS!

Hopefully the money from the wedding will replace the savings that we are spending on the wedding... Ultimately we would like to use it for a downpayment on a house

We're in the process of saving for the wedding and getting out of debt at the same time - not easy to do both together. But I want both of us to be debt free when we get married. If we're not completely debt free then some $ will pay the remainder off and the rest is the down payment on a house. We plan on house shopping shortly after we're married.

We're investing ours. We already have a house and pretty decent savings, so we figured we could start the 'college fund' with our wedding gifts. Even though having kids is a ways off for us, we figured it's never too early.
