Just wondering what brand of make up you girls recommended..and why?

MAC and pretty much only MAC...
with the small exception of Bobbi Brown...
I am crazy allergic and have very sensitive skin-- MAC is perfect, flawless, so nice to apply and NEVER irritates my skin. It is pricey but SO worth it-- I get compliments a lot too... same thing goes for Bobbi Brown...
With Bobbi Brown, I think the quality is just as good but it's easier for me to get MAC so most of my make up is that-- a few Bobbi Brown things here and there.

hmmmm not likely
my mom works for estee lauder-- she can get SOME mac products at her company store at at discounted price-- but you would have to know an employee that could do that for you...
other than that, my only suggestion is to ask for a macy's gift card and go to the mac counter to get your make up-- that's what i do-- it's always sure thing for me-- every xmas or b-day i get a macy's gift card and it's usually spread out enough that it's just about the time i need my make up.
i would say around 100 bucks, if you stick to buying the basics and what you need for everyday, would get you a full set of make up...
then do little by little from there-- build your 'day look' and your 'night look' and you could even do different seasons-- but my basics, two or three shadows (preferably ones that can inter-chance, using for day and night-- and using them alone, two or all three together)-- if you tell the make up peopls this they will help you.... also, a foundation-- i prefer the 'studio fix' its like a cross between powder and liquid-- the best of both worlds!!! it's AMAZING-- then a blush, mascara, eye liner (try the 'teddy' eye liner--- LOVE IT).... then just a blush brush-- you could use the applicator that the studio fix foundation comes with (it's a little flat round sponge)... so lets see, foundation, blush, mascara, 3 eye shadows for the perfect contrasting eyes, eye liner-- i use bronzer b/c i'm so pale but that depends on your skin-- and I think that's it besides a lipstick-- i prefer their 'lip glass' gloss--- they also have lip stick on one side and a gloss on the other!! i love a good two in one
HTH!!! be careful-- they will sell you everything under the sun-- you need to stick with what you REALLY need and will use everyday and limit them-- only 3 shadows otherwise they will give you six-- ok? good luck honey!! try mac in walt whitman OR smithaven

BOBBI BROWN. I LOVE THEIR MAKE-UP COLORS. THEY ARE THE BEST. I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST CHANEL & MAC!

Ok, I LOVE Benefit Cosmetics...they are in Macy's too, I would definitely check them out, they have the BEST concealer out there IMO!

i looovee my MAC make up- I tried the bare essentials and I hated how it looked on my face ill only buy the bronzer from them and the eye shadows arent bad either (they just dont last as long as the ones from MAC)
I also like urban decay and two faced eyeshadows!!

Yes, I go to the one at Walt Whitman b/c they have their own little store connected to Macy's (in the front by the inner mall entrance). I also like the Smith-haven one-- they have a counter in Macy's, again right by the inner mall entrance... also, FYI: they do NOT sell MAC at the Commack Macy's-- no room, small store! Just so you know-- even though I know that I STILL have gone in on accident three times lol for the make up! dumb!

At Macy's do they help you choose the correct foundation and make up for my skin color?
