Re: what can i do
All I keep thinking is 'the key master' from the movie 'say anything.' (I love the 80's) maybe you can assign that task to someone in the bridal party?

some hotels offer free shuttle service if you book a certain # of rooms, did you look into that? I wouldn't have them all chip in for that.

Re: what can i do
you can have them limit the drinks an hour or so before the end of the wedding...
like only wine or beer no liquor
or just wine
i might talk about doing this as well.

omg love that movie!!!!
i was thinking about the same thing when it comes to the drinking. Hopefully everyone will use good judgment.. and maybe carpool with someone who doesn't intend on getting wasted!!! I thought of buses too but it would cost too much money and people live all over NY so that would be hard!!! Limiting the drinks an hour before is a good idea though!

Re: what can i do
FH and I were worried about that as well. We have quite a few big drinkers coming, so when we booked with Camelot limos, we discussed having a limo for after the wedding to transport people to where ever they have to go. So we worked in adding an extra 10 passenger limo to our package deal we made with him. So now after the wedding is over, we have a 10 passenger limo for 2hrs to take people to their home, hotel etc...

I dont know if this is an option but the first thing i thought of when you said NYC to LI is maybe they can take the train? Its an option at the least. Maybe see if people can carpool where one person is a designated driver. ? Im not much help sorry.

Re: what can i do
you can ask the catering hall if it would be ok for you to leave business cards for the local cab service......but to be honest the only way to prevent that is not to have a bar.......people are going to drink just hopefully they all are responsible.

If you know your guests are heavy drinkers, they should leave their cars at home and ride with someone else that wont be drinking.
