What changes have you made or seen since you started losing weight
Whether it be Atkins, South beach, WW or whatever you have been doing, what changes have you made or seen.
For me some of my changes are a smaller clothing size, instead of regular soda its been diet soda, a lot more water, portions with food, and being more aware of the foods I am eating.
I am also very happy to be in photo's. I have always hated taking photo's b/c I hated how I looked, now bring on the camera and I'll be standing front and center with a big kool aid smile
Joined WW Jan 4, 2003 To date weight loss 27.8 pounds 23 more pounds to goal

I think for me is the mirror. I avoided them, esp. the long ones in the stores but now I don't mind them as much. And I like the way clothes fit, I don't hide as much and I wear things that fit, which is nice.
I have lost 25 pounds to date (since joining WW in April) and it is so good to see that it is taking someone else besides me a long time as well. I know that isn't necessarily a bad thing because I hope it stays off longer this way. I just see so many people losing weight so quickly and I think I am doing something wrong.

Re: What changes have you made or seen since you started losing weight
Just wanted to let you ladies know from experience, losing it slowly is the way to go! I too lost weight on weight watchers. I was so shocked and happy at the results. I lost 24lbs in 3 months and the last 10 lbs in another 3 months, so about 34lbs in 6 months. I was happy at the time, but foolishly went back to bad habits and gained all of it back and then some in no time at all. Now i am heading back to ww right after new years to try and slim down as much as possible before my wedding next summer. So take my word, SLOW IS BETTER!!!!!

I am so much happier with myself now- my self-esteem has improved since joining WW. I feel better, fit into a smaller clothing size, and make wiser food choices and portions (most of the time, but I have to admit when using my WW flexpoints on the weekends, I FEAST!!!! )

Re: What changes have you made or seen since you started losing weight
Stace: I know what you mean about it coming off. I hit a wall and was in a slump for 3 months. Drove me NUTS!!! Their was a guy in my meetings who lost about 90 pounds in about 6 months. I was extremely jealous. This other woman lost 103 pounds in a year. Each week she was losing 5 pounds. I wish the weight would just melt off me.
BUT.....
Like someone mentioned let it come off slowly. It's more likely to stay off.
A good thing to keep in mind is WW is not a diet but a way of better eating habbits and a life change. You can still eat all the foods you want and still lose weight and keep it off.
Don't worry it will definatly come off. Keep up the great work and you'll see. I have had many weeks where I was surprised where I would have sworn I had gained and the scale showed me wrong

BriBri: How great did you feel when you were able to get into a smaller size?? Isn't it a fantastic feeling. When I was able to fit into a smaller dress size I am not kidding I called a lot of my friends and family. To some it may not seem like a big deal, but to me I felt like I won the lotto. It's such a wonderful feeling
A lot of my jeans that I dont fit into are all going up on ebay which has helped me buy new clothes

Totally agree Melissa. I also don't follow plan on the weekends so I know if I did follow more strictly, I would lose a lot easier. I stepped on the scale today (mind you I have not been watching points OR working out since the begin. of December) and I am now down 25.5! I hit 25 pounds off and then went into a downward spiral since November where I crept up 3-4 pounds and could not get them off! Can you believe my surprise today when I saw that scale!?!?!?!

Ooh . . . Melissa, what a good idea . . . selling clothes on ebay! I totally love the feeling of wearing smaller sizes- it's so empowering! I LOVE WW as a lifestyle. I feel that as long as you stay with program you will continue to lose and it will STAY off. That is one of the reasons I love FLEXPOINTS! I am able to be good all week, it's the weekends that always used to get me. Now, I treat myself on weekends without going overboard and still lose! Congrats on your success!

Re: What changes have you made or seen since you started losing weight
I weigh in on saturday mornings so the weekends are my points dont matter. Monday is when I kick it into gear and watch everything. The day before weigh in's i make sure to drink a lot of water and eat light. Saturday mornings 10am weigh in, and then at 12 I am eating a nice big cheeseburger with bacon, french fries smothered in cheese and a nice big diet coke. I know all of that and a diet coke
Are you journaling as well??? I stopped, but I know I should. It really helps you stay on top of things and at the end of the week you can see what you did that helped you loose or maybe caused a small gain.
I went to FL in June and I still journaled. I also gained 6 pounds in a week and was so upset, but when I looked back on my journal I realized why i gained so much. Journaling is definatly a good key in helping loose weight.

Thanks Bri!
When I am on WW, I journal everything on-line everyday and I pretty much stick to my points. Come January when I start back up, I am down 2 points in my range so that will be a good start to the new year!

Re: What changes have you made or seen since you started losing weight
I finally have seen this thread....I have made alot of changes since i started losing weight. The first one and most important one is that I started to dress differently. I now wear button down shirts and dress pants to work instead of wearing long shirts and sweaters that hang down over my pants to hide myself. I am no longer afraid to tuck in my shirts. I am not the only one that has noticed the change in my weight, alot of people have told me that I look like I lost alot of weight, and that makes me feel awesome. I have been on WW for about 13 weeks and I lost 15 pounds, but this past week for Chirstmas I went off and I gained 5 back. That totally makes me mad that I let myself go back to my normal eating habits for this one week. I now need to go back on plan starting today and eat as good as I can again.
I am no longer going to Weigh ins at WW and I am going to weigh in at home. I didnt find it helpful going to WW for them to tell me I gained weight or I stayed the same or I lost .2, I would rather weigh in at home and not have to pay to hear those things.
It drives me crazy sometimes that you lose so little weight in one week or you dont lose any weight at all in one week. I know that I am going by the plan, and I am drinking plenty of water, and I am avoiding the food that I really want to eat...but I am still not losing alot of the weight I want to lose.
I know that I have lost alot of weight, and I am really happy in myself...I just wish I could lose the rest of what I wanted to lose. It seems like that is the hardest to get off.
I will not give up though. I still journal everyday, and write down everything I eat and drink. I drink plenty of water, and I also drink Diet Soda. I eat egg whites with no butter for breakfast, and salads for lunch, and I also do leave one meal that I will cheat on and have a nice cheeseburger delux or something good like that. That meal is usually after weigh in....just like alot of people I know do.
Im sorry that I went off subject a little bit. I cannot stop myself sometimes. Scott
