I really haven't read that many of the classics and was wondering what are your favorites? I want to try to read one a month (along with my trashy books), you know, try to enrich my mind or something

I try to do this once in awhile too. Some faves are The Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, The Pearl, The Bell Jar...there are others but I can't think write now. I'll post again if they come to me.

I try to read a classic every now and then...
The Count of Monte Cristo is a great read-highly recommend
I also liked Great Expectations
Moby **** was OK
Slaughterhouse 5 was confusing, disturbing, thought provoking and brilliant (IMO)

I hate glass menagerie ever since I played amanda in a scene study class!
I love black beauty, little women, the pigman, the catcher in the rye..my favorite book of all time is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
If you want plays I love, I love The Rainmaker and right now I'm directing Ariel Dorfman's 'Death and the Maiden' at Hofstra.
