Mine are green and FH's are brown...I hope our babies get green ones!!

I have brown, my DH has gray-blue eyes.
I have to say, as a brown-eyed girl here, I'm surprised everyone wants kids with blue or green eyes. What's the matter with brown eyes?? Hmmmmm????

I have hazel/green eyes...FH has brown eyes. I'm more into eye shape than eye color though.
Where do the eye traits come from, anyway? My mom has bright green eyes and my dad has grey eyes...my sister has a dark hazel color - more hazel/brown.

Mine are brown and Hubby's are blue.
We still can't tell what color eyes Mia will have, they a hazel/blue/brown??

anniegirl, i think i have the same eye color as your FH. my mom calls them amber. its like my dads green eyes and my moms brown got mixed up and sometimes they are yellow, sometimes greenish. its weird. FH had brown. my dad has very green eyes and so does FH's mom, so maybe the ikids will get green. hmm. i actually love dark eyes tho too!
I have green and DH has what I call marmalade brown
I think the attraction to green/blue is that it is less common and when you see someone with light eyes it almost pops out...(think Derek Jeter) like you can see through them...
the odds are slimmest for getting green if you are paired with a brown...

Mine are very dark brown, DH's are hazel. Our kids will probably have brown, but mostly everyone else in our families have blue eyes, so we're hoping for something unique!
And it's true that brown is dominant, but my boss and her husband both have brown hair and brown eyes and both of their kids have bright blue eyes and blond hair... I joke around and say that she slept with the mailman but they traced it back to her great-grandmother.... weird, right?

Really yabbobay? That means our chances of having green eyed babies aren't that good. FH's eyes are a pretty light brown though, so maybe we will luck out. My mom's eyes are brown and my dad's are green and I got green ones. Maybe we will get lucky too...
My sister has light brown eyes and my brother has hazel...who knows what we will actually end up with..FH's entire family has light brown.

Luna - my cousin's first child was born with white-blond hair and blue eyes...my cousin and his wife both have black/brown hair and brown eyes. Their other 3 children are all brown haired. It was a joke for some time...about how she must have slept with the mailman.

The dominant gene in my DNA is for the blue and brown eye mix. One has to be bright blue and the other brown.
There's other symptoms of the syndrome that causes my blue eye brown eye thing but the eye colors are normally what people most notice.
It's a dominant gene though, so apparently if I don't pass it down to my children (50/50 chance) then it stops with me. I really hope to pass it down. It doesnt have to show up in the eyes, but I hope they get the gene.
Can you imagine? An asian looking girl/boy with heavy wavey dark hair and a blue/brown eye mix? Talk about unique!
All I know for sure is our kids will need glasses!

That reminds me, if you look closely, there is a dark blue ring around my brown iris. Very strange. A makeup artist noticed it once when she was doing my eyes. I went to the mirror and looked and was so shocked to see she was right. I never noticed it myself before. But you have to look close to see it. Weird....
