What color is your bathroom?

What color is your bathroom?

I need to paint my bathroom and am just looking for ideas on color schemes.

Thanks!

Re: What color is your bathroom?

Since I just moved into my new home, I haven't done too much work and kept the colors the previous owner had.

I have one that is olive-y green and I have some kind of orchid accessories - I really like that one. It is that marblized effect.

The other two both have the ragging painting. One is pink and the other is navy. The navy one - I am doing a minor beach/ocean theme - with other shade of blue and white. The pink one - I am yet to decorate. I would love to repaint that one a orchid color....but not yet...not in the budget and the pink one is painted well the way it is...

Re: What color is your bathroom?

Hmmm... I'm stuck - the bathroom I'm painting is small and has no window. Right now it's this heinous midnight blue color with silver wooden stars stuck along the top of the wall like a border. Ack!! (The previous owners did this, not me!)
So I think I might go with a light color, just don't now what, and what color towels to match.

I'm not good at bathrooms

My olive bathroom is small too and I like it - it is only a half bath with no window. The walls are green and all my accessories are white with some orchid detail to them. Sorry I have no pictures.

I do agree though - light colors will open up the room. MY MIL just did that with her downstairs half bath and it looks so much bigger.

Re: What color is your bathroom?

When selecting bathroom colors keep in mind that bathroom accessories seem to come in a very limited range of colors. So if you were to paint your bathroom fire engine red, you would have very few options when it comes to shower curtains, etc.. Just something to consider.

My bathroom is a beige tile with this minty green color for the toilet and the tub. I add in blue for accents so i have a blue/green and beige thing going on.

I would love to give my bathroom an ocean theme with the sea glass tiles, etc..

Re: What color is your bathroom?

We really need to redo the bathroom in our house but we will have to live with it for a bit. I picked a color that I thought would go OK with the brown tile and vanity. It was called Cappuccino but it ended up looking like the color of Calamine lotion, that pink stuff you put on bugbites. I hate it and am definitely redoing it very soon.

ETA I know it doesnt answer your original question but I had to vent bc everyones ideas sound nice.

That sounds nice Niecey. I guess I could do something like that color or maybe something in the beige-ish family. I was also thinking doing all white walls with a red cloth shower curtain, towels, and bath mat.
I like the idea of blues too Stef, and you're right about bathroom accessories - they ARE pretty limited!

my bathroom is small and its black and white. very boring. So I added zebra print shower curtains, and towels to jazz it up a little.

Re: What color is your bathroom?

I rent so I was limited with my options. The bathroom has pale yellow tiles with small sage/olive green crests as accent tiles - about 10 or 12 total.

So I did a faux finish on the walls - painted then rubbed some off in swirls - in a sage/olive green color. Shower curtain and window curtains, are a creamy ivory. I have little gold & purple purses that I hang from the shower curtain hooks - for accent color. I dunno, it works - I decorate fairly eclectic.

My small BR is a green..little darker than a sage.
My master bath is a taupe with purple accents

my bathroom has a palm tree- carribean theme. I have orange-brown towels and green mats, all of the accents are palm trees, pinapples and giraffe prints- I also have a palm tree in there ( I have a big bathroom)

I have a small apartment bathroom- I think its 7*8. When I moved in it was in the 60's - yellow tiles on the walls and on the floor, and the tub was yellow.

It was the first construction I had done on the apt - now its purple. I figured DH would never agree to a purple room, and that I had to grab my chances when I could.

To be Hones - I'm a bit bored with it, but we'll probably move soon

Re: What color is your bathroom?

My bathroom is currently
(Wallpapered) hunter/burgundy.
We havent changed it since we moved here.

We plan to redo it very soon. Since there's light grey tiling, I plan to keep the tiles and do a lavendar/plum color theme. the grey will blend right in with the lavendar.

our downstairs bathroom is white and light blue. was partially redone by the previous homeowners, if that makes any sense
thats somewhere on the project list too

The walls are painted a sage green, and I have a sage and lavender shower curtain. It's actually the only room in the house that I'm happy with

Re: What color is your bathroom?

My master bath is a warm golden color, that is two shades lighter than my bedroom - we have the matching bath accessories and towels that go with our bedding (comforter, curtains, etc.).

Our hall bath is gray tile, so I've used burgundy, white and gold. I am thinking of stealing an idea from Doreen, and painting one wall a deep red (burgundy), and the rest of the walls in a shortbread color.

Re: What color is your bathroom?

We just ordered our tile for the main floor bathroom and it is blue/gray ceramic. The floor tiles are 12 x 12 and the wall ones are 8 x 10 with both a top and bottom border tile. The borders are cream, gray and blue. I can't wait until it is all finished!
