DH likes blue roof blue shutters!~~ I hate BLUE ROOFS!!
i also like green roof green shutters, but I want cedar/tan colored roof, we have a cedar stained door, cedar stained fence on both sides of the house, and we can get cedar stained shutters to match~~
i like that idea, ity's different~ all you see in levittown, is green roof, green shutters, blue roof blue shutters, or grey roof, black shutters!!
also - an idea to paint your front door red, black/dark roof, with black shudders. maybe a full view storm door to show the color of the front door.
just a suggestion!

Love the cedar look too! You could tell that's a Levittown house! My Aunt has lived in Levittown for 40+ years...thinking of selling her house. We might take her up on the offer because it's next to impossible to buy one not from a relative! There's tons of updates needed, etc. So that's a big factor. We would really miss a basement though...but I guess it's either that or rent for the rest of our lives!!!

Go with Cedar...Make your house different & stand out! A colored door is a good suggestion too!

Cedar can be VERY expensive. Looks great though...FI has a roofing company and i know it can get expensive... Ecspecially if they have to rip off your old roof depending on how many reroofs you have on.

One of my friends took a photo of her house and then photo-shopped in other colors to get an idea of how it will look. You can probably do something like that with any photo editing software.
Drive around the 'hood or other 'hood w/ capes like the post war area of New Hyde Park to get ideas and take pics.

I love the cedar/brown colored roofs - it looks so much warmer then black and is always instyle, unlike blue roofs.

Cedar idea is good - I happen to love blue roofs especially the new architectural shingles - i actually don't like green roofs, i have one now. I would either go blue, cedar (neutral for resale) or i even like that idea with the red and black!!!
