It's up to you. We had both fathers wear black so there wouldn't be a million different colors in the family pictures.
We just let FIL pick out whatever color he wanted. He went with a really pretty turquoise paisley, which didn't go with the bridal party (they wore pinks) at all but it was at least a spring color (we got married in April).

I think this is nice - have the fathers match. It doesn't have to be black, but a neutral color, that way there aren't too many colors going on.
everyone is in black except for the grrom in white for ours
the standard is the 2 dads wear black.
