What date did you put on your RSVPs?

I'm thinking the middle of May for my June 23rd wedding? When do we give the final count and how much time do I give myself for calling those who haven't responded. And what date do you recommend the invitations be sent out? Is it around 6 weeks from the time you mail them to your RSVP date? I'm assuming beginning of April for our wedding, then?

What date did you put on your RSVPs?

We mailed ours Saturday for our April 27th wedding. RSVP date is April 1st. That gives me 2 weeks to track people dpwn before I need to give final count to Lands End. Typically, I heard you mail them 10 weeks before the wedding. We went a little earlier than that becasue we have so many out of state and international guests.

What date did you put on your RSVPs?

I dated my RSVP's for a month (4 weeks) before the wedding. I gave an extra week for late rsvp arrivals and then began calling. My final count is due a week before the wedding.

What date did you put on your RSVPs?

I put May 20th for my June 22nd wedding. I am mailing out the invites on April 22, so by the time they get it and open it they have 4 weeks to reply.

What date did you put on your RSVPs?

We put June 6th as our RSVP date. Our wedding is Aug 3, 2002. We have a lot of Int'l and out of state guest. We do not want to send out an invite with an expired RSVP date in case we have to offer the invitation to another person. We are probably mailing them out in late April early May.

What date did you put on your RSVPs?

Our wedding is May 11th and we are sending out our invites the first weekend in March - roughly 8 weeks before. Our final count is to the reception hall 3 days before, so we have plenty of time to track those who don't RSVP by our April 20th date.

Wedding date June 23rd too!!!!!!!!

We have lots of out of state and international guests coming to our wedding so we are thinking of sending our invites around end of March to beginning of April so there is enough time for the distant relatives/friends to reply. We will need the invites back by beginning of May so it gives us time to call those who haven't responded. We are also having around 300 guests so there are gonna be lots of invites to keep track of. Hope this helps and Congrats.....

you all have me worried...

have you all ordered your invitations already?? I can't find one I like within my price range, and my wedding is in June also!! Do I need to get on the ball or what?? It seems all the places I have looked at to order from fill the order within a couple of days...are you all ordering your invites online or at a place locally?? ACKKK!!! I am starting to get nervous...wait, 'starting', that's not right...hahahaha

bnjoyful...

you are right once you decide and place the order, they come pretty fast. But, then you need to think about collecting addresses, addressing them, stamping them, and getting them out. If you have a big guest list, I would start now. I ordered mine 2 days ago, and they are supposed to be in next week. I went to Gail from Simply Elegant. Her personality is so amazing, and offers 30% off. She spent 2 1/2 hours with me, even though I told her right away that I was looking for the least expensive invitations. I spent $133 total for colored ink, lining, and return address for 50 invites and respond cards. Since my reception is in the same place, we indicated that on the bottom of the invite. Now, I can't wait to see what they are going to look like.

Non- responders and calling

For the peole who have already sent invites and have called the non-responders: how many of the non-responders indicated they were not attending on the phone. I guess I take it for granted if they plan on attending they RSVP. Just curious...

nina...

where is simply elegant? I am having a hard time choosing the right invitation. I actually have found a couple online that I like, but I would prefer to see them in person. Do you have a number for this place, I'd appreciate it!! Thanks!

Our RSVP date......

is March 9th for our April 20th wedding. You need time to do the seating chart, place cards and give the final head count to the hall. We also have a 'B' list. :) We already got 4 responses back (all yes) and we only mailed them last Saturday! Lisa

Gail from Simply Elegant works out of her home in Bayside (off Clearview Exwy, which is off the LIE), her # is 718-357-6124. She does have many of those large binders from the major manufacturers. She had several of the ones that I found online from americanweddingalbum.com and got samples from. I ended up choosing a completely different one (b/c of the discount, I was able to chose a more expensive one, and still stay w/in my budget). Good luck!!

bnjoyful...more invite info for you

Last year, I ordered my invites in February for an early June wedding. I was VERY thankful that I did, b/c they got lost in the mail (don't trust FedEx Ground). I had to have a new batch printed and re-shipped. Then, that was delayed b/c of the monster snowstorm that dumped about 2 feet of snow on the NorthEast! By the time I got the invites, I had to scrammble to get them addressed, stuffed, stamped and out. They were out by March 31st. I sent them early b/c I didn't do any 'save the date' cards, and we had a lot of out of town guests. Thank goodness that hubby-to-be helped!! :) I looked at several different places to order my invites. I can recommend two that you might try: Diana at Crystal International Gifts is very sweet - she does invites and favors and is located in Massapequa. She has a wide selection of invites to choose from. Two of my cousins purchased both invites and favors from her. I only got my favors there. 516-796-8530 I ordered my invites from Write Impressions in Merrick. I worked with Ellyn. She was such a trooper, since I drove her nuts with my lost invites and the re-order/re-shipment. She works directly with the manufacturer on your behalf. Her and her staff were all VERY helpful, and their selection of stationery and invites is incredible! 516-223-9224 Good luck!

Diana L - Non- responders and calling

We got only 1 yes from a non-responder... they never got the invitation actually so it's definitely better to call! All the others were basically no's. Personally I would think it's harder for someone to say No on the phone than to just send the rsvp back - but to each their own I guess!
