What did everyone do when??

They got sick???

I have the worst cough and cold ever... I cant breath, sleep, and im so congested. I swear I have a sinus infection. I feel like poop!

This cant possibily be good for baby....what can i do, since I cant take anything?

Let me add, I know rest is the best medicine and I have been doing that like crazy...everything just seems to get worse

PLease help me!

If you really think you have an infection, you should go to see your PCP. There ARE things that you can take while pregnant, and you need to get better!!

There are certain things that are okay to take but PLEASE check with YOUR Dr first. My Dr okayed tylenol (to bring down my fever), sudafed (for the extreme congestion I had) and robitussin (I also caught bronchitis) -- I had a NASTY flu/cold thing a few weeks ago that knocked me out for 3 days from work!! I'm just getting over yet another bout with a cold...I've gotten sick THREE times since I've been pregnant and normally if I get sick once a year that's alot.

Oh my goodness, I'm going through the same thing! I was coughing so much and was so congested last night that it was hard to breathe and I didn't sleep a wink. If I do go to a doctor, should I go to my OB, or my regular doctor?

I was wondering that too....Who do I see???

Last night I slept with the humidifier on...and it did nothing!

I feel like my nose is clearing up but everything is moving into my chest...my Dr. did say something about tylenol and robtussin, when I went last week, (he was just going over what would be ok) but he didnt know I was going to be sick now this weekend...so I dunno if he meant in the future, or still check with him first..I guess Im just paranoid!

My dr. allowed tylenol and sudafed when I was sick. If you're unsure about it you should call your OB. Feel better

I was that sick last week. I really didn't want to take anything, but I just had to, I was coughing so bad my chest hurt and I could not breath. I used Robitussin and Tylenol Cold which has sudafed and dextromethorphan to suppress the cough. I asked on here and girls gave me a list of things their OB said were safe, and these were all on the list. I also took benadryl for two nights so I could sleep. Sleeping with a humidifier and drinking tons of water also helped.

There are plenty of meds that are safe to take when you are pregnant - both prescription and OTC.

You should call you regular primary care doctor if you feel you are sick and need a doctor. Your primary care can recommend meds and you can run them by your OB (that is how my dr's worked) or you can hae you primary care confirm with your OB. If you just want OTC stuff - for like a common cold - talk to your OB. I was sick twiec where I was on prescription meds when I was preggo and once when I tried OTC stuff (and I never take OTC stuff but needed it when I was preggo).

But most impt - keep yourself hydrated - no matter what!

Yea...I tried so hard to fight it, and not take anything. Hoping that rest, and soup would heal me, but today I caved. I called my OB and he named a whole list of OTC stuff I Could take. Stuff like:

Plain Robutussin (no cf or pe)
Plain Sudafed
Tylenol
mylanta
tums
....I think that was it..

If Robutussin dosent work....off to my reg. doc I go
