What did you ladies do for your husbands 30th birthday...or what will you do? Originally I wanted to throw him a surprise party but he mentioned to me that he would be upset if I did that cause hes not the 'party type'. I am thinking about booking a weekend to foxwoods and getting him a massage which I think he will enjoy (neither of us have been to any casinos) but we wouldnt be going until the end of May.
What did you get for your wonderful hubbies? I know the trip is going to get expensive but I want him to open something special from me on the day of...not just the trip...
Any ideas? TIA

I think the trip is a good idea.
I didn't know DH when he turned 30 but for the first b-day that he had after we met, I got him things to represent our first several dates. Like, we went to the zoo so I got him a little beanie monkey. On our first date we had peach schnapps after dinner so I got him a bottle of that. We saw Chicago on Broaday so I got the soundtrack. There were a few other things. He really liked the idea.

I am booking us a cruise! I am not telling him at all! I am talking to his boss to get the days off, I am booking it and I am paying for it. We are going to take a boat out of Tampa so I will be able to pull it off. Just as he is getting over the initial shock of what is going on, I will take him down to dinner where his mom, dad, my mom, my dad, his sister and her husband, his brother and his wife, our nice and our best friends will be sitting at the table waiting for him! I am so excited and can't wait to pull this off!!

I dunno - he's 34.
I guess I'll have to do something for when he turns 40. Though I turn 40 a few months before he will so we'll see what he does. If I am still posting on LIW in the year 2010, then maybe I'll get a few new hobbies.

I think the trip is a great idea. I gave my DH a party. He kinda figured it out which stunk, however, we had a great time. We threw my friend a 35th surprise party yesterday and she was in shock! It was awesome!

I'm contemplating the same thing! He's turning 30 in June, & says he doesn't want a big party (esp. after our Wedding in the Fall), but doesn't have time to take off from work. We might do a long weekend. I think you should go for a nice trip, a casino would be fun, and it will last longer than a party.
