What did you want to be when you were little?? What did you end up doing?

What did you want to be when you were little?? What did you end up doing?

I'll start...
first a nurse because my mom is and then I realized that I hated blood,,,guess that could pose a problem in the health profession

Then teacher...but decided against it...

Then ended up going to school for journalism...but did 2 internships and wasn't gung ho.....

FINAL OUTCOME...

Why did you decide against teaching and then wind up pursuing it?

I wanted to be a veterinarian, but decided I couldn't put animals to sleep, and realized I couldn't overcome my allergies.

Then I wanted to become a psychologist (in college), then a speech language pathologist, then a marketing/fundraising director, then a teacher.

I wound up pursuing almost all of the aforementioned, and am currently seeking a job doing anything on Long Island, probably in education again. I'm a lost puppy these days. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I wanted to be a Vet but i hated seeing anilmals hurt so that was the end of that..

When I was little I wanted to be a successful actress/singer. What I became was a singing bartender still waiting for her big break.

i actually wanted to be a florist and im still slowly but surely working on it

i had the oddest one - i wanted to be an imagineer - an engineer for disney world - but realized i did not want to live in Florida or California - so new plan

i am almost a patent attorney - i did get the engineering degree- just applied it differently

Im not sure what you would even call this but I wanted to be one of those people that tapes bands when they are putting together a CD.

I think that's a recording technician/sound person/mixing engineer.

When I was little, I wanted to teach. Then I got into Meteorology in HS, so that is what my degree is in.

I taught a sememster of college (Meterology to aviation students) thinking that would help me decide if I wanted to go back for my certification in earth science teaching. It did just the opposite actually - I hated it so much that I knew teaching wasn't for me.

I ended up in the Marketing department for an Architectural firm in NYC where I work on proposals, presentations, go on photo shoots, work on the website, I do a lot of different things.

I thought I wanted to be a vet when I was little.

I ended up a lawyer but I've had lots of pets

I wanted to be a teacher just like mommy.

I ended up teaching for awhile but left. Now I am thinking of going back to school to pursue it again; it is a very big commitment.

I wanted to be a dance teacher.

I am a dance teacher but only PT. FT I'm a Fundraiser for a non-profit. I've yet to meet a child that says 'When I grow up I want to be a Fundraiser...'

Spiderman
Aquaman
Wonder Woman

And I became Wonder Woman!

Although, I still haven't grown up.

Well, when I was really little (like 3), I wanted to blow up balloons using a foot pump, like the one in the children's shoe store my parents took me to to get my shoes....I couldn't understand why everyone was laughing at me!


At age 12, I decided I wanted to be a child psychologist. I'm currently working toward my doctorate in school-clinical child psychology.

I always wanted to be a teacher but my dad talked me out of it b/c when I was growing up the city schools were laying off teachers and they were striking.

I then wanted to be a policeofficer like my dad.

I then became an admin for 10 years at Major League Baseball, ABC and Fox and then started school at night.

I've now been teaching for 3 years!!!

I wanted to work in the White House. It always seemed so glamorous. I did work there from '98-'99 when Clinton was in office.

Now I work in a college and am getting my doctorate in ed. admin.
