What DJ are you using?

Help me I can't decide on whether to go with a Band or a DJ? It's stressing me out, I have nightmares about this

Hi,

I am using a Starlight Express Djs and could not be happier. Every vendor I have spoken to gives them high praise and they were great at a showcase that I went to.

im using tommy tunes....a friend of mine is using a band for her weddding.....they are AWESOME..its called that 70's experience..i saw them play at this bar irish times and they are incredible...very impressed..my friend has been following them around since she was 21..its an awesome choice!

I am using a band called Renegade with LI Paramount...but I have two other friends that are getting married who are using Tommy Tunes. I heard Tommy Tunes at a Watermill showcase and they were great! It really depends though on what your budget is. My FI is a real music person so he had to have a band but I think either one would be fine.

I am using Vinny at High Voltage....

I don't like the idea of a band...I want the songs to sound the way they are supposed to, not the way some band decides to 'make it their own.'

Also, most of the weddings I have been to with bands do not draw a big crowd to the dance floor....most can't really play songs you can move to....JMHO

I heard some bands that were really good---but I want to hear the actual songs and a DJ is much cheaper!

We went with a band, we both love live music.

I've heard the DJ's Body Rock before at a wedding and they were very good.

Went the band way. We both love live music and I think live musicians lend an energy to the party that a DJ can't. There are some good DJs too, it's just personal preference and budget. Go see some bands and DJs and make up your mind. I have heard a few bands that sound like the record. I loved mine.
