Hello all, I wanted to purchase my fiance earings for her birthday that she could wear for our wedding and was curious to see if anyone had suggestions- she had mentioned maybe wearing pearl and diamond earings but she was unsure what would look good- Any suggestions would help- Thanks

I am actually wearing pearl and diamond earrings since I am wearing a pearl necklace and bracelet. I don't think you can go wrong with anything neutral - clear crystals, cz's, etc. Before I had all of my pearls I was considering wearing sapphire and diamonds for my something blue!!

That sounds perfect. You cant go wrong with diamonds and pearls. Ask her what necklace and bracelet she is thinking about wearing and match the metal. Just to be safe you may want to purchase someplace that has a liberal return policy.

I hate to be negative but... I wouldn't want my fiance to pick out earrings for the wedding! I am very very picky about what I will wear that day. Its one thing if you want to buy her earrings for her birthday, and maybe on her own she chooses to wear them for the wedding -- but if you give them with the expectation that she wears them you may create an awkward situation. She may wear them, not wanting to hurt you feelings, or be forced to say, but honey, I wanted to wear dangling earrings/studs/something other then what you got! :-) Its a really sweet thought though. How about just giving her earrings and letting her choose when to wear them???

Thanks for the feedback- I would never expect that she had to wear the earings for the wedding- in fact, I would love if she picks them out- what I will do is probably go somewhere like Fortunoff so that she can return them and get whatever she wants- she may even want to wear something 'borrowed'. Whatever makes her happy is fine with me. Thanks again

From what I have been told it is bad luck to wear a strand of pearls, because they represent tears. But if we all looked at what everything represented, we couldn't have half of the things we want at our weddings! You should wear what makes you feel beautiful, and nothing less!
