I am going with some of my BM's tonight to look at dresses (YEY!!!) ... I have one BM that lives in Florida and in the event we find something to order what should I do about her? Should I order for her and then send it to her when it comes in? Should I have her order it on website (but risk the chance of the colors being slightly off)?
I am confused

Re: What do I do about an OOT BM
Well do you feel OK ordering the dress before she tries it on? If so, I would probably order it for her if you know her measurements and size.

show her a picture of the dress, give her a chance to try it on somewhere near her (if you want) and have her get measured at a place near her... then she can call in her measurements and you can order them all together

I wish she could try it on but she is probably not going to be back in NY until my wedding unfortunately. She is planning her own wedding and we can't afford to visit eachother right now. I called her a bunch of times to see what she would prefer but still have not got a call back

well if you get a desinger dress.. you are ensured that the same color and style so she can order it online ... or just ask her what she prefers you do .. order it for her or see if you can find it online.

Re: What do I do about an OOT BM
I know everyone says order them together so the colors will match, but honestly how different could the color come out if its not done together, I think it would be fine if she ordered it at a place by her...but if you feel better about doing it together I would at least see if she can try it on someplace by her and get measured and then she can send you her measurements so you can order it for her.

Re: What do I do about an OOT BM
i was an OOT BM and ordered a dress online. the color should still be the same depending on the type of fabric. my dress for my sisters' wedding is a tissue taffeta skirt so we all ordered them together to make sure they are in the same dye lot. but it shouldn't be problem. when you find the dress and designer ask someone who works there and she can help you out.

Re: What do I do about an OOT BM
Most of my BM are out of state. What I am going to do is have them try the dress on at a bridal shop locally and get measured there- Then I am going to take all of the measurements and order the dress from the same place (probably RK bridal no frills program) so the dye lot matches...then I am going to ship the dresses to them and they can decide where they are going to have alterations done. It is going to be a pain in the @ss but I really want the color of the dresses to be the same.

I have been oot for every wedding I've been in. Usually you call or email your measurements along with your credit card number. All the dresses need to be ordered at the same time. All of my friends had all the dresses sent to the bride, and then she distributed them at shower or bachelorette and everyone got their own alterations in their own hometown.

You should order all the BMs dresses together to insure that they are all the same color (dye lot), they might be slightly off if they are ordered in different places.
I was in my cousins BP last year, she lives in Toronto, she picked a B2 dress, gave me they style number, I went to try it on at Bridal Reflections just to see how it looked, I had my measurements taken by a seamstress I know (just to be sure) I sent my cousin my measurements and $ for the deposit and she ordered it for me. Once she got it, she overnighted it by Fed Ex to me and I had it altered over here.
You could do the same, it worked out great for us.
