What do i do next?

Just got a call that my dress is in... what do i do next? pick it up then get the alterations, or get the alterations now 8 months before the wedding?

I think only you can answer this question. Personally, I plan on losing weight, so doing alterations now would be a waste of time and money. If you aren't losing weight or don't fluctuate in weight than I suppose you could go ahead and get alterations done.

i got mine early too....i went to try it on and look it over to make sure everything is ok and then i had to wait for my first fitting which is on in dec...they hold on to it until then

Me personally, I would wait. I would want to go now and try on the dress-but no alterations yet. Congrats!

I would also wait cause you just never know. It could happen that you change your mind about the shoes you've picked out and then you would need to possibly have a different length.

I was told by my dress place to start with alterations the end of March beginning of April for my 6/2 wedding. Since you are before me (and by the way at a GREAT RH ) I would go the beginning of march maybe middle of march. I know I don't want to be running like crazy the few days before my wedding getting final alterations done ! !

In my situaiton my dress is ready now and I am a year out but I have opted to have them keep it for me for preservation purposes. If you take it home and anything happens to it or it starts to yellow then you are responsible I would ask them to hold it in their warehouse or whatever they do with the dresses and start my alterations maybe at the 3-4 month mark. This way they are still responsbile for the dress. If you go this route just make sure there are no additional costs with this option even though I don't think it should be.

No dont get the alts now. Who knows if your going to gain or lose. They usually start doing alts 4 months before

When my dress came in, it was almost 1 year to the date of the wedding. I was told that I have to come in just to 'try on'. My alterations wouldn't be until 8 weeks before the wedding, which would make that March.
I would call the store to find out what needs to be done. good luck and congrats!!
