What Do I wear...

For just attending the ceremony at a church?

A colleague is getting married, and I wasn't invited to the reception (we met afetr she put it all together) but she invited me to the church

I never did this before - it will be a Friday right after work, so I can't get all decked out - would nice pants and a blouse be OK, or a nice skirt and shirt - something that I would wear for work?

I normally wouldn't wear a work outfit to a wedding, but I feel no one will really see me anyway because it's the ceremony, all eyes will be on the bride...


Input please!

also - do I bring a gift for just attending the ceremony???

I think a small gift would be a nice gesture, but not necessary.

I also think going in work clothes is okay - nice blouse and slacks will do...

OK - thats what I thought - how small is small though? I just dont know what to get her - this is the 1st time just attending a ceremony!

Maybe something small off her registry - ie: nothing over $75....would be sufficiant...

thanks everyone - I will dress to work a bit nicer that day - its Dec 23 so there will be holiday things going on anyway - I wont look too out of place...

I'm thinking wine is a good idea for a gift - I can't do anything near $75 at this point - too poor!!! Especially with the holidays!!

I WOULD RECOMMEND A SMALL GIFT ALSO
