The pears are cute but not really that functional.. It depends onwhat you want to get.. SOme people dont like to get things that are nic nacs that will just sit around the house.. I am actually probably doing african violet mini plants.. This way it doesnt die and it something you can look at and take care of and remember me.. I do like the book mark idea ,.. Its cute!

As for bookmarks.... I read ALL THE TIME (I love to read books, and I'm constantly reading for law school) and I never ever use bookmarks! I use tissues, receipts, scraps of paper... and those post-it flags. I recently got a really nice bookmark as a gift and FH has been using it
I think the pears are adorable and I'd totally use them, but if you are doing a fall theme the bookmarks are cute too

Kimberly, I love African violets!! At the Phila. Flower Show last year, Rosemarie Mazzei, from Distinguished Art Glass, was selling wine glasses, lined with colored stones, filled with water, and a tiny flower pot, containing an African violet, was sitting inside the rim of the glass, with a small string, attached to the little hole, in the bottom of the pot, which allowed the water to travel into the little pot. You probably know these things already, but may I suggest some growing instructions, to go with your plants? Always water from the bottom, never water with salt softened water, and I find Miracle Gro will insure big healthy violets. Mary MOB
