what do u girls think?

Originally we hired our dj for the ceremony, cocktail hr, and reception. Then we decided to get married at church, so we didn't need him for the ceremony. We went to our final meeting the other night, and he was like 'oh, i will def take $ off since you don't need me for the ceremony' which was great. He took $200 off, our already incredibly low price. (he did my 3 cousins weddings) Our cocktail hr starts at 6, and he said that he would just set up in the main room, bc our cocktail hr room is too small for him to set up in there. He said that there would be music playing by like 630, and that it really isn't a big deal bc it will be so loud in there that people hardly pay attention to the coktail hr music anyway. Is this weird? fh and I left like....hmmm i don't want people to wonder where the coktail hr music is for the first half hr...lol.... I know that he is a great dj, bc I've been to all the weddings he's done for my family, I just found this a little strange. I just don't know if it is worth me paying the $200 to get music for the first half hr ya know? What do you think?

Just need clarification..so you aren't using him for the ceremony which was the deduction of $200.. but if you'd like him to start playing 1/2 hour earlier he will charge you the $200???

if that's the case..that doesn't sound right???

well i think he was charging us the extra $ bc he had to be there earlier, and bring a second setup. Now he would only need the one setup.

Personally I agree that no one will notice but it's about YOU noticing..if it's going to bother you..than do it.. you had already budgeted the $200 so it's kind of a wash.

It''s all about you being happy and satisfied...if it will bother you too much..then do it.. You don't want anything to disappoint you that day...you dont' want to have to be concerned about another thing that day!!!

Good luck

honestly, if he's gonna charge you, skip it & get a romantic music cd for the first 1/2 hour- imo most people are too busy stuffing their faces to notice music

hum...that is kinda weird. But then again I am paying $150 to have CH music playing. My DJ is just pretty much giving JT a cd with songs on it for the CH. I think that is kinda ridiculous and was thinking about it the other day to maybe take that out and give JT my own CD with Christmas music on it for them to play. I don't think it is a big deal not to have that 1/2 of no music. I dont think alot of people notice. But then again he shouldnt charge you $200 just for a 1/2 hour.

Good Luck- def talk to them about it though see what he can do.

i actually don't think you need the 1/2 hour. we went to my cousin's wedding at the watermill and we could barely hear the CH music so to me it's not worth it. it does get pretty loud in there.

Yeah when we met with him thats what we were thinking too. But then later on the bride in me starting thinking that maybe it was weird I think we will just skip it, thanks girls

I would also ask him where he is getting $200 for an extra 1/2 hour!! Tell him to justify that.. they should be able to. xx amount per hour.

i agree. I know my RH said they can use my own music for CH if I want....u can even probably create a playlist on your ipod & give it 2 them 2 plug in.
