the only thing I've heard about it is the recent racial issues/fighting with day laborers....a while ago there were some incidents with Hispanic residents getting attacked I believe From what the news reports it's been occuring on and off for a few years.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Re: What do you all think of Farmingville???
I looked there, around Mooney Pond rd and ended up finding a house in Selden but only like 5-10min away from Farmingville. I really liked the area and the houses were seemed nice.

Re: What do you all think of Farmingville???
My friend lives there, and she loves it. I dont know how the school district is though, she is older.
She lives near Bald Hill, in one of those gated apartments. She has a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with master suite, and an extra room to use as a computer room or a closet. Free washer, dryer, dishwasher, and cable.
Use of gym and pool for $1000 a month. Very nice place. If it wasnt so far out, I would love to live there.

What school district? Is it Sachem? I came form a very small school district, so I would never send my kids to Sachem, but I ahve no idea if it is a good district or not. I did have a firend's husband that grew up in farmingville, and they lived in a nice area.

Some parts in Farmingville are alright. I go out there to do some work. But there are so many things out there that you can go and do.

Re: What do you all think of Farmingville???
I live in that community on Bald Hill to and it is wayyyy more than 1000. We pay over 1700, but it is awesome : ).
As I said in your other thread, I've lived in various locations in Farmingville for about 7 years and I love it. Yes there are the Porteguese workers (they aren't Mexican) hanging out at the 7-11 but they really only congregate in one small section of Farmingville and do not affect any of the stores or businesses so they really don't bother me much. I don't think I'd buy my house in that direct area but there are some parts of Farmingville that are absolutely beautiful.
Like any area, take a ride and check out your block and surrounding blocks before you buy.
Good luck!!

My brother lives there with his wife and their new baby. They have over an acre of property. The houses are prtty nice there and the schools are pretty good too!
I am thinking about a house right off of Blue Point road (North bound off of horse block rd) You have to go up 2 huge hills and just a few blocks away they have built huge homes so the area looks nice, the lady said it was Sachem schools?? Any other thoughts???

My SIL just bought a house there. It's a small house but it has 3/4 of an acre of property! I think it's a nice area. Sachem schools district for where she is.

I have a few family members that have taught/currently teach in the Sachem SD. From what I hear from them and others, it is an EXCELLENT School District. Actually they are in the process of building a brand new high school there.

There are two different areas over there...She lives in the one that doesnt have a garage and a driveway....The ones across the street that have the garage and driveway are $1400 plus a month.

I agree! It is a very good school district! They are building a new middle school and a high school.
