...as a house/apartment warming gift to a couple that just got married? They got back from their honeymoon on sunday and invited Shawn and I to their apartment for dinner this friday night...I feel like I should bring something but i dont know what... are flowers totally cliche? or should i just bring some kind of dessert or something?

is she registered at stores? maybe you could check out her registry and see if there are things that aren't purchased. But I also like the idea of a dessert or fruit basket. either way, u can't go wrong!

One gift that I gave that turned out to be a big hit, was all the ingredients to jack daniels sauce, and a recipe card. I packaged it all up in an ice bucket with lots of colorful tissue paper. I put a little not on the card that said saying something along the lines of I hope I made one dinner a little easier. Plus if they don't like the sauce, at least they have the liquor

Re: what do you bring...
well being that youre going for dinner i would definitely bring a bottle of wine, if theyre not wine-os maybe a case of beer??
and i would bring something like a cute picture frame.. with a wedding picture in it (if you have one) or if you bring flowers, go to homegoods and buy a vase to put it in.
maybe a bamboo plant, for good luck -- i dont like to buy flowers bc they just die.. i prefer to give a plant
and i would bake something.

i have to agree with a 'bottle' of something. Plants are nice too but depends on the people. My bro and SIL got a hibiscus plant and I thought it was the most amazing gift...they weren't too thrilled though lol

Re: what do you bring...
My mom just went to a house warming party and got a really nice glass pitcher. Not sure if they are into that type of stuff but I thought it was something different yet practical.

I brought a bamboo plant the last one I went to, or if there is something still on their Registry for the home, maybe go with that?
