I have been with FH for over 10 years, and I don't call his paretns anything, I jsut talk to them, no name, nothing.
When I refer to them to each other I alwyas say FH's mom or dad.
They have never asked me to call them by their first names, and I won't call them mom and dad, I already have a set, and I think Mr & Mrs is a bit ridicoulous,m I have know them for ten years and am marrying their son.
I feel that they should have told me to call them by their first name, like my parents told my FH. But he calls my paretns nothing wither, and we live with them.

They told me to call them Mom and Dad but I usually call them by their first names. Sometimes I refer to them as Mom and Dad.

I just started - actually that is how I was introduced to them. My MIL had said, Hi Heather I'm Laura - so I took it from there

I call my FIL Papa Ron like everyone else, including DH! He just remarried (DH's mom is deceased), and we just call his wife by her first name.
Dh doesn't call my parents anything! LOL! He just avoids that whole thing!!

We call both sets of parents mom and dad. It was something that we wanted to do since they both treat us as another son/daughter.

I call my inlaws Mom and Dad. My hubby still calls my parents Mr. and Mrs.

I call them by their 1st names...they have asked me to call them mom and dad, but I feel uncomfortable doing that.

I use their first names. But DH doesnt know what to call my mother, so he usually just says hi

My MIL from day one has told me to call her mom...and although I appreciate it, I feel very awkward doing so....so I usually call her by her first name
My FIL is a different story - never told me to call him anything, so I call him by his first name, and if given the option, I would never call him dad...

when we were dating I had to call them Mr. and Mrs. When we got engaged they told me I could call them by their first names, but gave me the Mom and Dad option. I chose the first names. DH doesn't call my mother anything. From the start she told him he could call her by her first name, but he never has. She thinks it's hilarious!

I just wish that they would tell me to call them by their first names, because it has be engrained in me to call people by Mr & Mrs, unless directed to call them by thier first names.
Also FSIL's boyfriend started calling them mom and pop since they started dating, and they weren't even that serious, and it really annoys me, he is too forward with people, like he calls me by a nickname, when only my FH calls me that, so I don't wnat to be like him at all.
