At the wedding when people are handing you their envelopes, what do you do with them? I don't want to have to hold them and I don't want them to accidentally 'disappear' so what do you do? I have seen people talk about card boxes, but what happens if someone (not a guest) decides to have a field day? Am I crazy for thinking such things?(or maybe crazy for listening to my mother ) She has me looking for a lock box!! Please tell me I am not the only one thinking these ridiculous things! Just don't want to be responsible for all of that when i am trying to have a good time. (please don't say trust the BM cuz I dont!) HELP!!

Re: What do you do??
Most brides put a card box in their RH somewhere that they feel comfortable with. I wouldn't put it right by an exit door. You could always ask a responsible family member to keep an eye on it for you throughout the night. If you don't want a card box then maybe ask a parent to hold the cards for you, they do make 'money bags' its like a draw string pouch to put cards in.
Honestly I would be shocked if a guest or staff member where your RH is taking place would steal, but then again

Re: What do you do??
I'm probably going with a card box and then I may periodically have my mom or someone take the cards out and bring them to the bridal suite (which has a combo lock on the door) and leave them in there...

Re: What do you do??
I was a MOH and I held the money bag. Everytime the Bride and Groom were given an envelope I quickly took it. I didn't let the bag out of my sight. It contained a lot of cash gifts which surprised me. My friend used some of them to tip the staff that evening. I would have just thought they would all be checks. Do you have an older relative you could trust? One that won't be up and dancing, etc?

Re: What do you do??
Im using a card box that has NO way to open it except the slot in the top me and my neighbor are DIY.......that way the only way someone can steal it is if they carry the whole darn thing out and then that would be way to obvious cause it is BIG

Re: What do you do??
I'm using a card box...but it'll be right next to our table, which is separeted from the rest of the tables. Then, it has a small slot on the top so no one can quickly take one. The bottom is hard to open...the hall supplies it to us. After the wedding my Mom and sister will be in charge of taking it. Usually it is checks, so if someone DOES take it...to be honest it can't be cashed. Some people are bad in this world...but I have never heard of anyone stealing the gifts at a wedding...wowi.

Re: What do you do??
Hey Alyssa! I had a cardbox as you know...but I kept ours right next to me all night --> like pretty much at my shoulder, and my parents table was on the opposite side of it so my mom was sitting on the other side of it. Believe me I had my eye on that thing as much as I could but I also felt assured that since it was so 'in the center of attention of the room' b/c it was right next to me and DH - I don't see how anyone could possibly go up there and start doing something with the envelopes w/out me or my immediate family noticing. fyi be careful what you do with it AFTER the wedding. I was in a frenzy trying to say good byes and tell ppl what gets packed where when we left to go to our limo DH casually put the cardbox in the limo and LEFT it there while he went to say goodbye to some ppl. I had no idea until I found it there on the limo seat with the driver in the front (I had though he put it in the trunk or at least guarded it with his life) but really I almost had a heart attack!! Luckily it was untouched but we got a safe to put it in rt after the wedding and it stayed there all honeymoon.
Actually I've heard horror stories about the 'safe' in the bridal suite (I wouldn't trust that thing) b/c random staff has access to that room and you can't see who's going in/out of that room most of the time.
Hope this helps!

Re: What do you do??
I had a card box which I tied pretty pink and white ribbons TIGHTLY around it going in all directions... everyone told me it looked so cute and thought it was just for decoration... but it kept the box 'locked' so it was impossible to open... you could try something like that.

Re: What do you do??
I have this card box I was thinking of making it so that it only opens a crack just to slide in the envelopes intead of completely opening it... Im thinkin of making it look like buried treasure... (im doing a beach theme)
