I'm on a womens soccer team, over 26 and I also take hip hop. Looking to take the jive if anyone knows a place. I'm also currently working on my thesis.

ETA: Gabe starts gymnastics next week.

After going to the grocery store, making dinner, doing laundry or misc. other chores, I either read or watch tv or both. Amen.

Well with two jobs and going to school it's pretty rough..I don't think I could take on one more thing.

I go to the gym when I can make it, mostly on the weekends.

Where have you danced before?

I have taken a couple of beginner jazz ,tap and theatre dance classes at Broadway dance studio. I didn't like it because it was SO crowded and I felt like I was not learning anything. I want to find somewhere that gives you more personal attention.

I know how it is for some of you who come home and then have to cook dinner, raise a child or children, clean up, go grocery shopping, do lesson plans, write a thesis. I do that too, but I just NEED to get out and be AMY once in a while. Rediscover ourselves.

Sometimes I feel like Im just mom, or the housecleaner. I want to be meeeee!

I play soccer on the weekends and usually take a dance class once a week. I want to switch studios though, so we'll see.

Seriously, when do you people have time for all this?

I don't have a bad commute (1/2 hour) and I leave work between 5 and 5:30. My gym is on my way home. I work out 45 mins-1 hour on days DH and I do not run or ride our bikes. Leave gym around 6:30. Usually stop at Waldbaum's on the way home for any food we need. Home around 7. Eat while watching Jeopardy til 7:30. Homework for my doctoral courses til 9:30. Sometimes some TV after, then to bed around 10:30 or 11. We have a washer and dryer in our place, so I'll be doing laundry while cooking or doing homework. DH and I take turns cooking--last night after we went biking he made burgers on the Foreman.

I think that's great that you can get that all in.
I always feel so overwhelmed , but I know other people , have children, 2nd jobs, school, etc & make it all work.

I think it is the commute that is a large part of my stress. At 7, Beth has already gone to the gym & the grocery store & I am just getting home.

I used to volunteer in an animal shelter, but due to health reasons I had to stop . But now I do online animal rescue work and take gym classes.

It's true. My lifestyle has changed so much from when I commuted to the city and got home at 8.

That's probably true. I am looking into taking a yoga class, it will force me to leave exactly at 5.
In the summer I have to work to at least 5:30, so I am still bitter about that, b/c I ahve been so exhausted lately!

Do you have to get a babysitter when you go to your activites, or is your husband home then?

Its always different. sometimes my mom watches him, sometimes DH and sometimes I just take him with me.

i have no time. i usually leave at like 710, and get home at around 530. Then I eat, relax a bit, and will be grading papers/planning. Then I sleep.

I can't wait till my first year is over

I'm in my 11th year of teaching and that's my same routine

I leave at 6am, back around 3:30 if there is no meeting and prep and paperwork...

I am a member of WINLI (Women in Insurance - Long Island) with monthly meetings out in long island

I am also the President-Elect (next year I am the President) of NAIW-NYC which is National Association of Insurance Women - New York City. This position requires month board meetings and monthly dinner events in the city (so twice a month i travel to the city). Plus conventions for local, state, regional and national levels. This years events are in Buffalo, Vermont and June is NEW ORLEANS (??) which my association pays all costs for me to go to and represent NYC.

I am also a member of the MX-3.com group which displays their Mazda MX-3's and talks cars. Gatherings are rare, but photo ops are about once a year.

I am a member of EastCoast6.com which is a group dedicated to Mazda 6 owners and we do lots of get togethers cook outs etc. And yes, I've been modifying my car. Gatherings are about every month or so. Next major trip is Great Adventure on Saturday (which I can't make) and NOPI in Nov (which Im going to)

I am also going back to school taking a 4-hour Algebra-Trig course at Nassau on Sundays (still can't figure out why)

I also work with 'The Sanctuary for Families' which is a non-profit organization which assists battered women and their children. Helping to organzie backpack drives, xmas ornament gifts and other fund raisers.

OH and I'm married with two cats! LOL

I go to the gym, do plays for local theater companies and volunteer with the american cancer society's camp adventure.

I am taking 3 classes towards my Masters, so Im anticipating lots of reading.

I was good about going to the gym for a few weeks, then my schedule got busy and Im slacking off now.
