I NEVER leave home without my Zantac. I have SERIOUS heartburn and this is the only thing that works immediately.
It's goooooood.

The only thing that helps me is a little bit of ice cream and not lying down flat. It is getting worse and worse for me and I still have 6 weeks to go

I'm in the same boat!! I use Mylanta and tums very frequently during the day. Also Pepcid was working for alittle bit. A glass of chocolate Nesquick has been working pretty good in conjunction with the mylanta. Try to avoid laying down after meals for 15-30 mins. Good luck!!

Since you are pregnant, I would stay away from drugs.
Actually, believe it or not, you can take 'vinegar'. I know.. disgusting.
But you need to fight the acidity in your stomach with 'acidity'.
So, when you take those mylanta, etc.. they create a circle that you cannot stop. Reduce acidity by taking anti-acid medicine, stomach creates more... then again you take more anti-acid medicine, etc.
Limit the caffeine, tomato based food, etc..

I agree about the acidic foods. Really lay off coffee, soda, tomatoes, citrus..eat small meals frequently.
I use Pepcid and it's really the only thing that works for that burning. Ask your doc if you can use something prescription like Protonix..I had a very small irritation in my stomach and it really helped heal it-although I think yours is more pregnancy related.

Yes, I have heard of taking vinegar too.
I used to take Nexium. It works Great!!! But, I don't think you can take it since you are pregnant.

I'm TTC and was just put on Nexium for my heartburn. I was told that I can stay on it throughout a pregnancy (if it ever happens).

I've heard apple cider vinegar is really good for that.
