other then money? or is that pretty much all you give. and since it is my hubbys second cousin and a close friend with my sons (third cousins)

I agree.
Also, depending how close you are with them you could give them jewlery. I remember for my first communion I got a beautiful braclet from one of my aunt's and my first 'adult-type' jewlery box. I love them both and they made me feel special.

I just went to my niece's first communion two weeks ago. I gave her a Lenox figurine (it's a little communion girl with a veil & everything - very nice) and money. I got the figurine at Fortunoff.
I think just money would be fine too. She also got jewelry from other people.

its for a boy. I dont think a figure would be good even though I like them. I keep going back to money but then I think how much? what appropiate?

we were thinking cash or savings bond.... (bond seems nicer) and maybe rosary beads ?
