What do you guys think of this-- OOT Mailing/STD

If anyone remembers from an earlier post, I ordered a small amount of formal STDs- to send to our 'VIP Guest List'. After thinking about it, I really need to let all OOT people know before the invites go out about the wedding, so they can book a hotel room, etc.

Anyway-- I am done now putting together a second STD that has a lot of info for the NY Area.. I posted this before without any content.. Now I am done and wanted to share!

Also, wanted to ask-- for someone who may not be expecting this in the mail-- is this clear as to what it is??

ETA: I am trying and trying to get this big enough so you guys can actually see it- won't work-- but, you get the idea..

to make it 'clearer' i would perhaps take the CELEBRATE THEIR WEDDING part and play around with the font color - maybe red to match the weddings and celebrations text?

also i would make the travel title the same font size as the other section titles...

We are going to print them in b/w.. it's just easier to execute. That part is color cause I stole the image off the NYTimes web site. All the fonts are the same size-- except for the STD Info.. so, not sure what you mean...

ETA: Do you think it is unclear now- or that would just make it pop more??

I agree. I think I would take out the celebrate part and in a big bold colored font put SAVE THE DATE with the date underneath. I think that would make it much clearer, if Save the Date was bold and jumping out at you. But it looks awesome. Very Creative!!

if you are printing in black and white then i would try to make the CELEBRATE THEIR WEDDING part stand out a bit more font-wise if you are worried about it not being 'clear' (it's totally clear to me...)

the Travel title looks a little bigger than the New York region and Fashion and Style sections and is not underlined (if you want to keep it consistent)

ok-- I see what you mean-- it's the image.. Again, I grabbed them off the Times web site- so, some are underlined and others aren't.. that is what they use.

I am not necessarily worries about it being clear-- but I showed this to a couple of people before the middle part was filled in- and they said, make sure peopel know what it is- but, they were saying this before I adding the main part- so it's understandable- just wanted to make sure it was clear now.

We are planning on printing these on our own. I want to get newsprint paper and see how it looks when it is run through the printer. If that doesn't work- we'll get something else-- maybe a stock with a grayish tint. Or are you talking about my other STD's that I posted a week or two ago?

right now it is just a electronic document-- we will print them on 8 1/2 x 11.

I love it.

As far as it being clear, I wouldn't worry about it. My STD's were very short and to the point and some family members who never received one before (sending them is still a relatively new thing, a few years old) or are elderly were confused. Some people are confused no matter what you do.

I really don't think the paper matters-- but we live in the city, this is the paper we read, and anywhere else in the country- if you ask people to name a NY newspaper, they would say the Times. So, I think the NY Times is appropriate.
