Ice cream sccops sound perfect in your situation...on your favor tag I would put something like 'Our love began with an ice cream scoop' or something of this nature...you get my point.

I have heard of putting hershey kisses in the scoop part and write on a tag--
'a scoop of kissess from the new Mr and Mrs'

I like it. I hate when I get things like knick knacks (sp) that I never use. That gift rocks. You can even say on it SWEET Love Your names and the date

This is what we did and people loved it. We used the ice cream scoopers with the heart handle. DH and I LOVE our ice cream and I was going to use a poem on the tag but once I wrapped it and put the details on it I had no room for the tag....
