My FH and I were engaged at Disney by the castle. He has decided that he wants to incorporate some 'cinderella things' in our wedding. He found a site that has a beautiful castle cake topper, toasting flutes, invitations favors etc...We looked into having our wedding at disney but it was too much money. Do you think I should go for the theme? It pretty much would just be the items I mentioned before. So far my arrangements have been simple and elegant. I like the idea, because it means alot to him (he is proud of his proposal). I like the idea too, just a little weary of taking away from elegance at the wedding. I know I am rambling on...what do you girls think about the theme?

My FH proposed to me too in front of the castle and for our engagement party we are using a castle theme and for the wedding we are doing a 'Fairy Tale' theme
I think it's great he wants to incorporate the way you 2 got engaged in the wedding plans. You got my vote! Go for it!

I think it's great because it's about you two! Plus anything that makes FH warm & fuzzy about the plans is awesome! I think the items you mentioned can be done elegantly & it will be very special. Good Luck!

I went to a wedding of Disney fanatics and she had Disney invitations and menus and little glass slippers that held the place cards, I thought it was a cute idea.

I think it's great that your FH wants to incorporate it...at least he isn't like mine (yes, dear, whatever you want dear - until he hears how much it costs!!)...It sounds great!! Good luck with it!

If you are wary about it, then I would say no.
Im sure I will be flamed for this but I don't find disney stuff and/or cartoonish castle things to be overly elegant.
Absolutely NOTHING wrong with doing anything at your wedding if that is what you want but Im guessing by your question you are looking for some honest feedback - so that is my honest opinion.

I believe that weddings are most beautiful and special when you include personal details about yourself. If this means that much to your FH, and if it is significant and meaningful to you...then GO FOR IT! Remember, it is your wedding and you have to do what makes you happy.

I agree with SonicStef - Disney is not elegant, its cutesy. If you really want to incorporate the theme (which would be nice because of its significance), I would limit it to the toasting glasses and cake topper, maybe the favors depending on what they would be.
It doesn't need to be in the invitations - they set the tone for the entire affair - they should be simple & elegant.
Some folks are very into cutesy things and themes, I'm not. If thats not the feel you're going for, proceed cautiously.
