We chose to acknowledge everyone who is invited. Mr. John & Jane Doe 123 Street New York, NY 12345 I never liked the idea of dropping the woman's name, when addressing a couple. Mr.& Mrs. John Doe...I don't like at all!!! How did/are you ladies handled/handling this Happy planning

That is a fine way to address inviations but if you do that I believe you must write: Mr. John & Mrs. Jane Doe Otherwise you will be addressing the man formally and the woman informally. For me, I will address differently based on the person. Some people will get a very formal addressing, others will be more informal.

I ran into the same problem. I don't think you should include the Mr. title if you have no title for the women. We used 'John & Jane Doe' for our friends that feel the same way about dropping the women's name (if they had different last names we used Ms. Jane Doe and Mr. John Smith). My mom (and her friends) prefer the Mr & Mrs. John Doe format, so I left it that way for the older generation.

The other post I wrote was just a guess. But I agree that dropping the Mr. and Mrs. and using both first names and common last name (if they have one) works.

I did indeed address both parties with titles Mr&Mrs John & Jane Doe, so I guess it is not weird. I guess ones need confirmation sometimes You ladies are the best Happy planning

And so do many of my married friends. It is as if the women is not even a person. I am not sure how to handle the situation either. I know that it is proper to put Mr. and Mrs. John Doe, but is Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Barbara Doe okay? Any advise I would also love.
