What do you say....

when people assume they are invited to your wedding/shower?!?! UGH!!

Lots of my co-workers are assuming they are invited to both. I get at a loss of words when they say something or hint towards it.

I would love to be able to invite all but we just cant!!

Any suggestions or anyone know exactly what Im talking about??

Say exactly what you just said. They you would love to invite them but you just can't. Adding that you have large families (even if you don't) might also help.

I tell people that b/c we both have large families we have to limit our guest list to family a few very close friends...which is the truth. I wish I could invite everyone but it is just not possible.

You could always say that you are doing a small wedding, or that between you and FH's families, and your parents' friends, you are not able to invite all the people that you'd like to.

My co-worker asked me, in front of our clients, if I was going to invite my whole team to my wedding. She then justifies it by saying, 'If I ask you in front of people, then you can't say no.'

I just smiled and though 'oh, i sure can say no'

It happen to me to, I got a second job to pay for my wedding and two people there said somthing I cannt wait for your wedding ANd i didnt say anything so my guest list went up because i did not know what to say I was caught off guard I cann t just invite them two there are about 10people now but its funny i rather have the people from my second job then my real one lol
There should be a post not to talk about wedding at work unless we are planning inviting co-workers. for me they knew I was engaged and started asking me questions thenm two mths later everyone thinks they are invited

I feel your pain!! i work at a rather smalll place and i dont even really feel that i have a choice as to wether or not i invite everybody! and two of the people that work with me i didnt even know when we got engaged, but they work there now so i kinda have to invite them too... good luck on this!!

We kind of purposely booked the small room so I just say we are having a really small wedding (which is true). Try saying your room only holds xxx amount and you are already over that limit
