Hey everyone, what do you all think of me and my FH getting married before he is deployed in an extremely small and private ceremony and then having our 'wedding' at another date when he returns................For all those without military knowlede, once we are married his pay will go up and it will be a great chance for us to save more.........???????????????????????????
The only thing is that we can't have a church ceremony than on the day of our 'real wedding'
I think you should do it unless you have your heart set on a church wedding then wait.

I think that sounds fine, you have to do what is right for you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Re: What do you think
That sounds like a good idea, especially if he gets a raise out of it. BUT...if your heart is set on a church wedding, then wait.

Re: What do you think
If I was me I would marry him now. I would be worried that something would happen to him. I'm not trying to scare you this is just the way I would think if I was in your shoes.

Re: What do you think
why don't you have a civil ceremony now and have a church ceremony later? I'm pretty sure you can be married in church as long as you haven't already had a church wedding.

Re: What do you think
I think that decision should be completely based on your feelings about getting married in church. If it were me I might do it but I wouldn't consider myself married until I was married in church. I would just think of it as a legal thing. Aren't many people technically married before the church marriage anyway? I think many people get their license signed by all parties before the wedding day. I guess it all depends on what each ceremony (civil vs. religious) means to you and your FH. Good luck!
