What do you think?

What do you think?

Last week Macy's wanted me to pick up my dress, I told them I was a little concerned as my wedding was still more than a month away. They patronized me, but ultimately said I could come back in two weeks.

The last fitting I had the halter portion of my dress was still pinned. I requested to try it on to make sure that it fit comfortably. The seamstress was like no, it was only a couple of buttons......it was pinned like an inch. Then I noticed on the side that there was a pull in the thread and the seam was slightly separated. I asked if this would become worse with dancing and again the seamstress was like its nothing. I paid $380 for alterations......am I being obnoxious to ask to try it on again and to have them fix the side seam? I don't want to give them a hard time but I paid a lot of money.....shouldn't my dress be perfect?

heck yeah you should keep staying on her. i dont care if you paid two bucks for her to do it. the bottom line is that you paid for a service, therefore you should get it. ask to speak with her boss right away. dont feel bad about it, you are right.

Just out of curiosity, which location was this at? I ordered my dress at Macy's also and am wondering if I should proceed with caution for the alterations....

Demand perfection. This is something that you should be 1000% sure of.

Call them back and demand attention and perfection.

I went to see my dress last night and I was not happy with the service at Macys at all either. the lady wouldn't help me at all. She didn't want to touch my dress. She just threw me in the room to help myself.

i know this might sound bridezilla-ish--but sometimes you just have to be bold & brazen with these people and DEMAND that it be done the way you want. it sounds like you are concerned, and then when they say 'oh no--don't worry'--you (like most people) kind of back down so you don't seem too demanding or *gasp* a b*tch. i say go back there and tell them that you will not leave until someone helps you and handles allllll of your concerns.

remember--you are not purchasing this dress for their comfort & enjoyment--this is your WEDDING GOWN!! you should accept nothing but perfection, and not for nothing--they should be willing to give it to you. make sure you let them know you are not happy with their service, and even request to speak to a manager if they still keep saying 'Oh don't worry.' just let them know, 'Listen, I know that you do this everyday and such--and it's old news to you--but I AM ONLY MARRYING ONCE!! Therefore I think your job is to put my mind at ease!'

don't feel bad about it--cause you will be very sorry when you are at your reception and have to spend 40-50 min. in the bridal suite being sewn into your dress! (i actually KNOW a girl that happened to--she pointed out a seam that seemed loose and the seamstress said the same thing as yours did. well she missed nearly 1 hr of her reception!)

If it bothers you it's a problem!! You are paying them! They should be willing and eager to help especially when you can give them a really great review on here or a not so great review!! I may even throw that one in when you speak to them about this!

Every single time I went to see my seamstress, I was trying on my dress. I'm very uncomfortable with the idea that they didn't want to let you try yours on again.

The other girls are right, go back there and complain!

YES, YES, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did this Saturday over shipping charges I'd already paid for BM dresses....had I 'backed down' I would've paid another $60 for it....something I just wasn't going to do...I stood my ground and made a slight scene, but in the end, I got what I wanted and though it was Bridezilla-like, it was worth it...I paid for a prodcut and service, I should get what I paid for...not what they feel like doing.
