Have you used her for your hair at any other time? I think that if you get the feeling from her that she is a professional, than the situation with your friend wouldn't change how she behaves towards her job and obligations.

If you got/get the feeling that she is catty or petty, than maybe save yourself the stress of worrying and find a new haridresser.

If you use her regularly, I think she should be professional enough and not have a conflict. But if you see that she's very chummy and would take sides, then I find another person. Unless she's the BEST hairdresser you've ever been to, then I wouldn't complicate myself with it.
