i really want to have an engagement party, but i feel like its too late. we got engaged in may of 2007 ..8 months past.... i was thinking w MIL to have a fun little engagement party for us in the backyard like a luau.... should we do it?

of course...i say do it...we just had ours a few weeks ago and we were engaged 8 months at the time of it......there isnt a time line for ur eparty

i would go for it! youre not getting married till october of 09 so theres still over a year from when youre engagement party is to when your wedding is.
i got engaged in october and im only having my e-party in june.

i would say do it! i thik something casual lke that can be done at anytime. just be careful if your going to do it within the year before the wedding you might want to say something to let them know that presents arent necessary being that the wedding is closer then a year away, maybe something cute about celebratig because the wedding is near and sick in there that presents arent necessary. but if the party is more then a year away dont say anything and get all the presents yu can haha!

Go for it!!! I so recommend engagement parties, you should celebrate your engagement!!! My friend got engaged in Nov and had her is in May. Your wedding is still over a year away. Have fun!!!!

It's never too late -- we are having ours sometime this summer, about 6 months after becoming engaged, because his parents wanted to throw us something in the backyard where they would put up a tent, etc. and you can't do that yet!
